I have one of these kits, now fitted on a second bike a Giant roam 2. The kit has covered 12000 km since 2019 with no issues and the battery is still giving a range of 60/70 km at level 2 and 3 assist, great kit

12k kmh? Damn that's good going. Just bought the 350w rear kit for my kona fire mountain Mtb with the 27.5" wheels. Good to hear you're having decent reliability as I plan to use it as a daily rider. My other bike is an engwe engine x which is quite heavy and I use on sunny days just for Messing about on. Done a few mods it but is too big and bulky to use every day.

I have had yose power kit for 4 years the first kit had a silly fault yose power sent new controller; and other bits still did not cure the problem. So sent whole new kit and never had problem since, hey never asked for all other part's back. I had great communication with them from Germany to date 1500mile hassle free riding great kit

Great review. I totally agree with you on these Yose Power kits - I've installed two of them myself now, one on an old mountain bike and more recently, another on a folding city bike. They perform very well indeed and, although I live in Cheshire where it's reasonably flat, there are some steep hills here and there and the 250W motors have no problems climbing with minimal effort!

Thanks for review. I have been looking at the Yose kits to convert one of my hybrids. I know that road well and have cycled it many times before. If you go that way again on an ebike, take the road on the left before the bridge and car park down to the Plym Valley Trail. It would be good to see how pedal assist would cope coming back up. There is one particularly steep section where I have always had to get off the bike and walk. And that was when I was very fit!

Thanks I appreciate your swift response.

Made that steep hill look easy. If I could get something like this on a step-through frame I would be happy. My days of getting my leg over - chortle - are long gone, especially when I have panniers on the rear.

You can get a battery that fits on rear rack with kit

Thanks for the review! Interestingly, that's the second comment I see regarding the throttle being limited to 6 kilometres per hour. I wonder why the change, and if the 350w motor has the same limit (among the most recent kits).

What was the watts on the battery I would like 500 w. Also my wife wants a motor on our tandem but wheels have more spokes than normal for increased strength. What is the average range? Thanks for video very interesting.

It looks like the battery is installed upside down. Will that not make it more vulnerable to water ingress? It’s pretty specific about installation looking at the website??

Is the battery not upside down?

Great video and overview, been looking to get a kit to convert my Trek Cyclecross due to the very hilly environment we have moved too recently. Do you have any experience in the front wheel version of this kit? Just thinking it might be an easier swap but wanted to get your thoughts. Thanks

Would the kit work on a 2007ish Canondale Ultra Touring bike?

Thanks for this...does the kit come with gears at the rear...or can I fit my existing gears [ 0 speed ] easily...? Thanks....paul

I have recently purchased the same kit as this and installed it on a giant reign , motor works excellent, but can only manage about 26 miles on power setting 5 before voltage cuts out at 28volts , would anyone say that this battery is underperforming or , given the bike is quite heavy , the performance is about right ,

Do you really need 138mm clearance for the motor fit in the rear dropout ? I bought a bike is a brand new hybrid with a cassette. I tried measuring it, and it's more or less 135mm. Now I'm confused.
@allangoodwin2342Ай бұрын
My giant roam is 135 mm but just squeezed it in was tight but doable

Ebike Choices, I'm just curious that your channel description mentions you are in Colorado in the,USA, but you are riding a bike on the fringes of Dartmoor. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Hi @neilfurby555. Great question! eBike Choices was located in the UK until Dec 2023 when it was purchased by the current owners that live in Colorado USA. Based on that, you'll see a lot of content that was filmed in the UK and now going forward, more content that is filmed in Colorado.

Great video! I enjoyed it. I'm Senquan, CEO of 100G Smart Tech, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing our Geeko e-bike kit?
