allow me to give you a tip. I do not use silicone gasket maker anymore (whenever it is possible) on machined surfaces i use Loctite 515, it is an anaerobic gasket maker up to .30mm gap. I found it to be better and lasts longer; the other benefit it has is that it does not oozes inwards, for example in water pumps, so it does not clogs up heater cores or radiator with silicone noodles.

Is there not a spec for the buckets with the cam?...it looked like you are using the old buckets(people call them diff.names..just what I call them)..if there was a valve job done(be silly not to)...that spec changed and buckets would need to be changed or disassembly and cut valve tips to bring it back in spec.

Any particular reason you put assembly lube under the bearings in the rods and the block?? That just giving them more of a chance to spin like no doubt all over the bearing where to meeting the rod or the crank but underneath??
@austinniemela

Tallon Johnson I took the bearings out to make sure there is NO grease or oil on the backside, and I did not lube the backside of the bearings

Can you please tell me what the final cost on the rebuild? Ive been looking at Jaspers and a few other remans. But the prices are nuts. I was just wondering if it is much savings or if i should just do a plug and play. Im still undecided on the TDI or the 3.0 mercedes. Anyway love ur videos and if u can respond or maybe touch on it a little on your next video. Keep Em Comin..
