hey man, you might consider keeping the outside preserved and give it a shine with boiled linseed oil. It actually dries and hardens, but will stick better than just clearcoat. It will keep the ratty look, but make it also look clean. Just an idea, check it out!

Fireman's trick to the fan in the doorway: Move the fan back in the room a few feet but still aimed at the doorway. The total airflow out the door will dramatically increase! Bernoulli's FTW.

Honestly the bay was really clean to start off with, but looks freakin amazing afterwards! I need to get that sandblasting attachment you have....looks like it works really well. Coming from a 4wd dude...I kind of want to see this thing as a crazy street truck. What about a UZ swap or really ruffle some feathers and put an SR20 in it

So thankful guys like you exist , I just started working on my white 77 sr5 longbed again, mines still original but I'm in southern California right by the beach so mines gonna sit a little low in babyblue and chrome with cream interior an a sun roof. 🌞 also learning how to weld myself I'm rebuilding the floor boards and firewall. I want the truck to be super insulated and sound proof. Watching you rebuild your truck has been a blessing to watch MAN! THANKS

Keep the patina for sure. Slick little truck man...check out Vice Grip Garage if you want an idea for how to protect the patina, pretty sure Derek has a recipe for his shine juice on one of the old Cadillac videos.

Looks great, just heard of this stuff my friend used it on a 53 Chevy pickup PaPa Patina. It’s a clear that come in different shine. It’s self leveling and can be applied with a foam brush. I’m sure you can spray also. I was amazed with finish. Just an idea.

The spots where it looked like you were having issues on the primer, look like you just got it a little heavy there resulting in a little bit of solvent pop and the orange peel. It seemed to be in areas where you may have a bit more overlapping passes, or hard to reach areas, that could have caused the buildup like that. You obviously have experience with body work and the such so not knocking your work at all. It's hard to tell exactly from the short pieces of video, but that's what it looked like to me. Have a good bit of experience myself so not just keyboard warrior-ing. Nice video, keep it up!

You should try to get ahold of Dave Chapelle from Dirt Every Day. He lives somewhere near Spokane and was a big mini truck guy back in the day.

I hope you took my advice and took a look at LC Enginering they have mild to wild engine parts for 20 &22r's stage1 to stage5 race engines, ps definitely get one of there high proformance oil pump's. Stock oil pump's are the Achilles heel of the toyota 20&22r thay hard anodized the case and remachine to tighter tolerance, I highly recomend one.

Looks good so far.. Definitely go with aftermarket headlights that can function as LED, with center lenses being yellow and outer being clear. Would look dope.. I would roll and pull the fenders, lower the truck maybe 3 inches in the front and 4 inches in the rear sitting on some 17x9.5 front 17x10.5 rear wheels with thick tires to add to the rust look the wheels should be copper lip O_O lol man I am too invested.. But hey, I am excited regardless..

You cant apply heavy coating without rest between each coat. The first coat always has to be very light, like dust, then it should nt be a problem
