I’m in QT hotel in Surfers.. its 3am.. there’s two aborigine boys in the room next to me, singing this song loud, with harmonies. It was AWESOME hearing them sing with a full heart. I saw them on the balcony, they thought I was going to tell them off for being loud, but I said Nah, I just wanna know what that awesome song was and to please don’t stop singing Peace n love my brothers

Better than INXS, AC/DC or Crowded house? Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel or Silverchair? They're a great Aussie band, but you're drawing a long bow there lol :)

funny story. i grew up in the remote areas (not an Aboriginal), and I am very much aware that the Aboriginal people have 'warriors'.. yet when i was studying my Bachelor of Social Work as a mature age student, those asses made us do a unit on Aboriginal history to the present, (led by Aboriginal people) saying that the Aboriginal folk were a 'peaceful group of people until white invasion'. All those new graduates thinking that there was no warrior, no strength and no backbone to Aboriginal people. I challenged one of the Aboriginal lecturers just saying "how odd - i grew up in the north and my understanding is that X mob are known to be a fearsome warriors'. She hung her head and couldn't look me in the eye and responded 'i can't talk about other mobs - their not mine'. right. we still get assessed on whether or not we 've learned the BS they teach us.
