FARR 43 - WILD OATS (Wild Rose)

Wild Oats (the original) was commissioned in 1983 by Bob Oatley and launched in 1985 and is now exclusively For Sale with YOTI Race.
This Farr 43 was Farr Yacht Design #159 and was built by McConaghy Boats.
She was conceived as a triallist for the Australian Admiral's Cup team in 1985 following on from Farr's very successful One Tonners which dominated the 1983/4 Southern Cross Cup in Australia and Pan Am Clipper Cup.
Sailing as Wild Rose she won the 1993 Sydney Hobart on corrected time and was the last yacht to win the Tattersalls Trophy under the old IOR handicap system. Then in 2014, she went on to win her second Sydney to Hobart - this time on IRC.
Her list of achievements is extensive and thanks to the love and ongoing care from the late Roger Hickman and her extended family and support crew, she is ready to do it all again.

So nice to see a video of a boat sailing that is not all 'MTV'd out. ie: I can not watch videos that only hold onto one image for now more than 4 seconds, constantly mashing up beautiful motion into a scatter of brief images. Great video and nicely presented information on the boat, it's design and build ! :)
