This is more of a tuning question... what did you do to your Sage to get to play “nice” and responsive? I recently purchased a sage, and couldn’t get it to play responsive with out wrapping the bearing at least twice, which then kinda kills the ability to do string mounts. Noticed you’re using the Sage as responsive in many of these beginner trick vids.

Hey I bought a sage yo yo, and I see in most of your videos you’re using a responsive bearing. The responsive bearing that came with the sage yo yo doesn’t spin anywhere to as long as yours does in the vid. I don’t mind using the unresponsive bearing I just don’t like having to bind after every trick. I was wondering if you have a different bearing in the sage yo yo that I could buy, or if I just have to break in the bearing more because I’ve only had it for a couple days. Thanks!

It is not a yoyo we would recommend, but if you already have it, you can learn the basics on it.

We would not recommend getting a Magic yoyo. Their bearings are notoriously bad. Every now and then you may find a good bearing, but often they play so bad they need to be replaced.

Generally you want to put in lube that's been specially made for bearings. If you want to clean it out so it'll go back to your old spin time, let the bearing soak in acetone for a while.

When you are learning it, yes. Make sure you do not allow any slack in the string as you are doing the trick, and that you don't move your hands too far apart.

i found a fun trick to do with that mount and the regeneration. first i get into the split bottom mount, then i let go of my non yoyo hand (without triggering the response system). that way, i get a one handed bottom mount (in my yoyo hand of course). next, i throw the yoyo in front of me while letting go of the string, and as it come back i do a regeneration and repeat the trick (though, the yoyo is turning the other way). that way i practice both the mount and the regeneration, and as my regeneration gets better, so does my sleeper throw.

If u do a cradle and land the yoyo on the back left side of the cradle and lower it, it will become the mount.

Before each trick tutorial you should rate the difficulty out of 10 love them anyway

That is an interesting idea. We do that in our app with the Level up system. Every trick has an XP value so you know how difficult it is... and all the tricks are arranged by order of difficulty to make it even easier.

Most likely that means you are not holding your top hand directly above your bottom hand. If you move it side to side very much it will miss the mount.

@@Eclipxed There is no simple solution, but in general you need to make sure you are not pulling the string across your fingers while the yoyo is applying force in the opposite direction. Use your hands to get the yoyo moving the direction you want it to go before spreading your hands apart to accelerate the motion.

You build a calice over time and it wont hurt anymore. Unfortunately to get there you have to make it hurt. In construction we have to run our fingers over all sorts of lumber but that's why our hands are hardened much like anyone else who works with their hands. If it still gets to you try wearing gloves or changing the type of the string.

A friendly piece of advice.....you should include slow motion clips of your tricks because it's almost impossible sometimes to see how and where to move our hands from you doing the trick so quickly even when the video cuts to that topographical view of the trick..... it's not good enough. Slow motion please

My sage yo-yo won’t sleep more than 3 secs on string even with my best throw it’s new and responsive did I over lube it I lubed it a few time in a day I was a nub I learned so I used thin lube to reset it then it got worse so I used thick then then I used thin lube again in a span of two days I’m a noob I know

Most likely you are screwing the yoyo together too tight. Loosen it a little and see if it sleeps longer.
