Why would Joe/Will start doing the exact same things again? Because he's an addict. His addiction is to winning over women and feeling wanted. The episode already hinted that his mother had higher priorities than raising her son if she's leaving him at the boardwalk to go about some other business. He's following a pattern because it's proven successful in getting what he wants. It's a form of control. Life feels manageable for him when he can know every single thing about a person. He spies on their socials. He telescopes out their property and activities. He "bumps" into them at every opportunity. These women aren't potential mates to him. They're mysteries to be dissected and understood until he feels that there is nothing left to uncover and their loyalty is complete. The same way that serial killers must eventually seek out new victims, Joe has to seek out new conquests. He feels incomplete and unstable without that element of control. Incidentally, his secondary pattern is to find a child without proper supervision and teach them a code. It's like he's passing on his knowledge to an unknowing protégé.

joe has a major inheritance and owned the book store yall. he has money. he has a meaty collection of rare and expensive books. those things are worth a ton of money. it's established lol. also confusion upon viewing the first episode of a season is normal. come one, you guys cant expect to understand everything and not feel any confusion from one episode of a new season. also soundproofing a room is not new, difficult, or unheard of at all. look it up, it's a common practice for artists and recording artist and it's actually super easy, barely an inconvenience. I dont see how that's so unbelievable. and as a sculptor, we buy tons of building material all the time that there isnt evidence of in our homes. that's a weird stance to take because if that was the case, all small scale craftsman, artisans, furniture makers, sculptors, etc should have this stuff in our homes? lol no. But great reaction! excited to see your reactions to the rest of the season!

It's not illegal to record someone in public in a lot of states, especially midwestern ones(where you guys are), but in California it's very illegal to record someone without consent they have a two-party law which means both participants have to know about the recording before it can be legally started Cali actually has some of the strictest recording laws

Pretty sure the “two-party consent” law only applies to audio recording of conversations and stuff like that. I think video is fine as long as it’s in a public space with no reasonable expectation of privacy where pretty much anyone could see you anyway. @@samatar6852 Yea but i think season 2 kind of took away what i loved about season 1 which was it was so conflicting because Joe actually believed what he was doing was right, because he was going up against other bad people and the longer the season went on you slowly forgot how bad of a person he was. Throughout Season 2 he constantly doubting himself so its harder to actually like his good side and yea this seaosn did embrace how goofy and trashy the show is but i think they tried to pull a juggling act with all the different subplots and didn't completely succeed, season 1 felt more contained and cohesive. Also i didnt feel the attraction Joe had for Love, him and Beck just felt more real.
