Randy Bachman is a Canadian treasure and one of his great qualities is that he and BTO never took themselves too seriously. They were providing the world with simple 3 or 4 chord rock and roll and they had some great hooks along with some humorous lyrics. They described their career best in 'Takin' Care of Business' in which they say, "Get a second-hand guitar, chances are you'll go far if you get in with the right bunch of fellas" Saw them live back in the 70s. Fun show but really, just went out there and played rock and roll. Loved it.

I'm a 61 year old who grew up in the 60's & 70's and enjoyed some of the best music ever. Since covid made me stay home, I stumbled upon music reactions and became hooked on them. Of all of them I've watched you guys have become my favorites. I love the classic rock and hard rock of that era but I think you guys may be oblivious to the best voice of all time in my opinion. On the men's side there are good singers, great singers and there's Freddy Mercury. On the womens side there are good singers, great singers and there's Karen Carpenter. She won't blow you away with power or soaring high notes but there's something about her voice that goes threw your ears and into your soul. She is the only voice that can give me goose bumps, make the hair on my arms stand up and bring tears to my eyes knowing her back story. If your not familiar with her I would urge you to check her out but be careful or you may be sucked down that rabbit hole. I would describe their music as elegant pop.

I just watched an interview with Randy. For a guy pushing 80, he is articulate and enthusiastic about music and his many year in the industry. A very cool guy.

For some reason, we never really got tired of this song even though it got a huge amount of play. They have another super-fun banger called "Taking Care of Business" that is also very quotable but without a stutter.

Your song choices are like a time machine to me. This took me back to a buddies garage in Santa Fe where we were playing ping ping while blasting this on a boom box.

"She said, 'You ain't seen nothing yet.'" I took it to mean that what and how she said it made him nervous whether or not he could handle what was coming next.

I’m pretty sure “Takin’ Care of Business” is their biggest song, surprised that didn’t get the most votes.🤔

A 1970s classic. This is what made the album a hit, by being a monster radio hit. Ironically, the song was written AFTER the Not Fragile album had already been finished. The label felt the LP needed a single that could herald its release. They got it.

I think back about Andy sitting in his bedroom by himself reviewing classic rock....and where you are now with Alex and musicians reaching out to you guys. Amazing! You must be proud. Good job as always

I agree, Taking Care of Business. A fun jam, and back in the day one of the first songs learned by every high school garage band.

Yes my favorite to dance to at the local bar band night, I used to hit the “chicks trying to look pretty” with my own drunk perfected choreography that was genius LMAO

I've probably said this before but what you guys do is bring me back to music I grew up with and just hear it differently. I'm over 30 years your senior but love listening to old stuff for the first time in a way. And The Who stutter song is my generation. Cheers!

Randy explains in a great Vinyl Tap show he hosts that the origin of this song is that stuttering within the song was a loving joke to his brother who stutters. The track was only intended to be sent to his brother and never released. It was a throw away track used only in production to calibrate the mic’s and levels before they starting recording the planned album. It was Randy singing. www.imdb.com/title/tt3637706/

Randy grew up in my home town Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. One of his brothers had. a stutter and was teased by Randy and his other brothers. It was never meant to be released, He wrote it to tease his brother and it was used mainly for microphone checks. Being short a song on one album, they were persuaded to use this song. It was sung at first without the stutter. Then it was put back in as everybody liked it better. Love your show! Randy was also with The Guess Who, before leaving to form BTO. The Guess Who and Neal Young are also hometown boys! Prairie air makes for great voices…..lol

My buddy and I had front row seats once in early 80’s. They had towers of speakers on each side of the stage. After the encore we reached up and shook hands with the band. I swear I could barely hear from either ear for about 2 weeks!!

Dont post on here too often. 1986, my first concert, ZZ Top Afterburner Tour. Had a band opening for them that my 16 yr old self had no clue about. BTO owned the stage that night in Evansville, Ind. Good times. Keep rocking guys!
