Quick correction for 6:28 !! Pachipachi in Japanese is an onomatopoeia for clapping!! Generally refers to the sound when someone claps, so maybe it's related to the applause from an audience after an idol concert?

@@byeol_mmd I like Kururun on a design level but I’m not a fan of them being considered “best mascot” because they are not treated well by the story: they are ignored and made unimportant. If that is what a best mascot is, that makes me sad. The mascots in Heartcatch etc actually have deep purpose in the story.

@@auralunaprettycure I never said "best mascot" and neither did OP. They said "exists to exist" and Kururun pretty much fullfills that role. As you said so yourself, they aren't treated well by the story and made unimportant, but we still love them. I think the writers also said they make them like that because Laura was already there before them and before becoming a Cure she was the one who guided the Cures to their goal like every main fairy/mascot has done.

I think actual precure mascots usually are VERY relevant to the plot, the one exception I can remember is Kururun in Tropical Rouge and that's why we love them so much lol

For Wonderful, their tentative total is 6 counting the bunny duo in the movies, and likely the finale. At best You and Idol Precure might have the starting trio and mid season duo, both as separate Idol groups on stage. Kind of hoping You and Idol Precure might at least follow the pattern of some occasional made idol units in female centred cast Idol franchises. Pripara Idol Time/Land has With, a male idol group whom played an important role in both seasons, while Pretty Rhythm series has some male idols whom helped the main girls, later on have their own spotlight in King of Prism. So far, another magical girl franchise, Balala the Fairies managed to make the concept of mid season magical boys work. Noah (Yole) from the original series appears in the mid season of the original series, but worked independently until the finale to assist the main team. Symin from Star Fate was initially brainwashed by the main antagonist Nightfall and fought against the main trio in the first half of Butterfly Awakening, after breaking out joins the team in the second half. Magical boys in Balala are depicted as important figures/warriors/defenders of their respective magic realms, in a sense serious/stoic but with a few endearing moments.

It feels ironic, but I cannot bring myself to imagine that irony being clever or subversive because "mother" is still the other thing little girls are intensely pressured to be so it doesn't really feel like being liberated of the pressures of idols...

I feel like. The cures will be different color. Probably again main Blue cure as cure idol fits more with the blue star. Purple with Cure wink and ESPECIALLY kyunkyun fits perfectly with the heart. As there are two hearts in the logo. With kyun being something like a heartbeat and having repeated twice for cure's name. The similar sounding names of maskots give me impression of being black and white maskots since two hearts appear in the logo. But these are just my theories

That's strange, the Deluxe broche set is probably something else maybe the other cures trinkets because the leak doesn't have any pouch and civilian forms doesn't usually wear the device pouch only the mascot carrier. Also the headset is not featured on the leak either and if it's sold in the first wave of toys it's means it's prevalent in the cure design.
