@Alex M I love how everyone still calls it "the Curse of Flesh" when without it we, the characters would be almost mindless automatons following the Titans instructions. Thanks to that Curse the players have grown powerful enough to defeat Titans, in groups of course still we may one day surpass them. All in all I am not sure how much of a Curse it really is. Thanks for your great lore videos I do love them but sadly none of that is true I really don't think Blizz puts that much thought in to the game after 8.3 the old gods will be gone and that is all of it. (it would be so cool if I was wrong but I am not)

I was doing the Frost DK artifact weapon quest and from inside Icecrown Citadel, if you look down you can see chains very similar to the eternal palace. Calling it now, Yogg'Sarron true form is final boss of Shadowlands. I remember a quest chain where you go down below the citadel, i think im gonna go through it again....

I feel like the old gods go back to the realm of the void Lord's when they die and that the maw leads to that realm. After all "if you stare into the abyss, it stares back at you". The jailor is probably a being banished to the furthest darkest reaches of the shadowlands to watch over the worst most destructive maddened souls, and the maw relates to the void lords/void somehow. If death is all about balance like life, it makes sense that the void would be involved where it hunters and seeks to consume existence. Even life.

There is technically more to the "bringing the void to the Emerald Dream" idea in the game as you progress the Heart of Azeroth storyline. You go into the Emerald Dream in a Scenario to help the Green Dragonflight fight off the Void forces before they lend you their strength in the forge. You don't outright remove the void influence though, just help the green dragonflight regain some lost ground and start to fight back, so it could still definitely go either way after that still. lol

The father of sleep refers to N'zoth. "In the land of Ny'alotha there is only sleep." "The drowned god's heart is black ice." "In the sunken city, he lays dreaming." There is a lot to do with the Old Gods and dreaming, they infected Azeroth the dreaming Titan. Now Ny'alotha has become the Waking City. There is something to do with N'zoth corrupting the cycle (Emerald Dream) & (Shadowlands), both are aspects of Azeroth's dream. N'zoth is corrupting not just on a physical, but a metaphysical level as well. We will probably have to excise Old God corruption from the Shadowlands at some point too, to finally purge the sleeping titan Azeroth of N'zoth's influence.

Since vanilla, every time our character “dies” they are reborn via the ‘graveyard’... how do you know the graveyard? They always have an angelic looking copy of the “Lady Death” In Kthulhu Mythos Old Gods fail to ever really die because they live outside our concept of reality. What we ‘see’ and encounter is only an ‘avatar’ of the god. Like the character is our own avattar.

Except we know EXACTLY what these supposed old "gods" are: semen ejected from the void lords to make a void titan. They aren't mythical or anything ridiculous. Void Lords fail to exist in any part of the Kthulhu Mythos except the part created by writers at Blizzard, think do I. Even if your comment was correct in intent, Void Lords also exist outside of the reality known as Azeroth. That makes their ‘progeny, the Old Ones, in the same realm as their parents.

I truly believe that N'zoth is not gone even though he was slain in the realm of the Old Gods as we have seen with his avatar. N'zoth's goal maybe the defeat of the Jailer and take the fight to the Shadowlands, but also the resurrect of the other Old Gods as Xal'atath was a test subject to see if he can bring the others back with this same method. Yogg-Saron was called "the God of death", meaning he was the opposition against the forces of death. His defeat has allowed death into the material realm and N'zoth knew this. His gift maybe what will allow Yogg-Saron into the Shadowlands and even the scales back to the Old Gods favor.

I think him tying himself to the players is simple, We can't be drawn into the Maw thanks to the Heart of Azeroth. That means his essence cannot be claimed by the Jailer, is my guess about that. By defeating him, we are now carriers, like the Hero from Diablo 1 who bore the corrupted soulstone, we now are carrying N'Zoth wherever he wants to go, unwittingly.

so there are two ideas that i think of when i think of how someone can live again after they have died, one is the Vorlon's from Babylon 5 they can break of bits of themselves into others so they can go off and see though others eyes the other is quite simmer but from a fantasy setting Harry Potter and horcrux's and well i dont have to explain how they work but i think you can see how N'zoth has made quite a few, in setting there will (in my mind) only be about 20 Hero's of Azaroth (this will have to be reworked if they make any new classes) and not all of them will have been marked but in Lore there is more than just the Heros that have a bit of N'zoth in them and i think thats what is stopping him from fully passing over to the other side.

I think nyalotha might be their realm they return to. Illgynoth when you kill him says "Nzoth, I return to Nyalotha". Clearly pointing out that he's going somewhere else. Not dead, or staying dead. The "alas your eyes are closed" is interesting, because when he breaks out the only thing he says is "All eyes shall be opened". And then he vanishes with Azshara. I liked the idea of the heart of Azeroth, because it's like a mini origination Ray. We know that can kill them. But... You have a very good point about maybe Azshara having the right idea. She planned that longer than we did. However, just keeping him trapped gives him the chance to always get free again. Obliterating him is more permanent. But if he's anything like the legion you'll need to kill him in his own realm. Which would be Nyalotha. So I'm wondering if.. as long as players have his gift, he has an anchor to keep coming back. And we bring him to the shadowlands with us. Just like we brought the void to the seat of the Pantheon. And the emerald dream. We've already seen that since the heart of ysseraj wasn't fully destroyed, he was able to regenerate so to speak. And now tons of ppl have his "gift". A physical piece of him to be an infinite battle res. And he's got doorways all over the place to pop back up at any time. I wonder, in the nighthold fight, we got a glimpse of the world taken over by the void. You saw tentacles everywhere on azeroth and it was all purple. But Nzoth says "I alone can save you from what is to come". What could be worse than that, that he can save us from? If there's something worse coming than all of us being turned into void aberrations and going insane.. yikes.

The Remnant of the Void or whatever the flower was called was actually brought up and dealt with in the Heart of Azeroth campaign in 8.2 when you go to assist the Green Dragonflight. At least, that's how ti seems, anyway, since you can loot the bloomed flower and there doesn't seem to be anything left after that.

Just because what we saw on the surface disappeared doesn't mean it was cleansed. Do remember that the green dragon and malfurion stand atop a sealed Titan vault, and that we loot the flower from roots. Roots run deeper than we can see.

Bellular I don't know if you've talked about this yet at least I can't remember, but what about Shadowlands being tied to the void lords (and thereby old gods too) in a huge way that'll be slowly revealed as the patches of the expansions roll out I don't think that it's a coincidence that they made SHADOW priests strictly about void-connected stuff and then at the same time we start hearing about the SHADOWlands - before that it was just "beyond the veil" or w/e else there's also the fact in the Uuna questline there were pale orcs same model that appeared on Draenor in the small small part of the shadowlands that we saw and we still don't know exactly who was communicating with Cho'gall from AU Draenor and if Shadowlands is timeline-irrelevant it means somebody from there must've been the one talking to him

My speculation is that this ends with Sylvanas cementing herself as some eternal part of something, so she can successfully escape her fate, and preventing anyone from taking revenge on her. That way Tyrande takes it out on Anduin and the Alliance can finally have an interesting story going on.

I think Old Gods go to the Void when they die. Y'shaarj died when Aman'thul pulled him out of the planet. The Puzzle Box of Yogg'saron whispers about "the black goat with seven eyes looking from the outside". It's obviously Y'shaarj watching us from the Void, and one of the items that drop from the island expeditions shows you a vision of the same goat staring from a black pool, and then switching places with you, making you stuck in the pool instead. This could mean Y'shaarj might return and take N'zoth's place after we defeat him in patch 8.3. I doubt we'll be facing another Old God in the Shadowlands, but this could be Blizzard setting up a future threat.

@@jairyd3nos During his fight in Siege of Orgrimmar, one of the phases has him absorb old god power from the heart of Y'Sharraj. Thr next phase after that, is everyone is teleported into a vision of Stormwind being invaded, on fire and destroyed by old god corruption. Even back then, it didnt teally feel like a "this is what im going to do when i win" vision, but more a "this is what is GOING to happen regardless" vision. Infact, comparing the two, it almost looks supiciously like a horrific vision to me. Expanding on this, N'zoth has often gained victory through his defeat. Us being away from azeroth, in the realm of death (Old gods HATE death) would be the perfect time to strike, and end up with us coming back to find the black empire is back, or even just possibly, that a massive old god invasion is happening. Edit: Look up any Mythic SoO run, and you'll see the phase I'm talking about.

there are multiple things that's bug me, 3 of them are: 1. I don't think that we really kill him for all line we can read, what will happen when all of us as well as most if not all the strongest people on Azeroth go to the shadowlands, if he wasn't dead then azeroth had no one to protect in its current stat. 2. we have one hell of a sword, sargeras sword, on the heart of the plant that we did not do anything about it yet. 3. in Stormwind horrific vision, why didn't we fight the boy king.

The only thing I hear from this summary (and that's naturally not on Bellular, just Blizz's shoddy writing), is: N'zoth and Sylvanas: "I knew that you would do that". "I knew you knew I knew that". "*GASP!* haha, I am joking! I knew that you knew that I knew that!". Lore-wise, N'zoth is an ancient being, a puppet master extraordinaire, and Sylvanas knows things because plot armor. No, the logical option would be that N'zoth is outplaying us all, he makes Sylvanas thinks she's ahead, when in truth she's nothing, or to put in in more Old God-esque words: in truth her eyes are closed.

@@eternallegacy89 Old gods in general have no gender. They are refered as it, that, their. But the forums say Ysh has a female characteristics. Over to Xala, highly doubt she is an Old god, maybe an minor old god. But definitely not old god, as there are only 4 of them on Azeroth ^^
