Why doesn't one of the supplicants just say, if motivated to do so, "I wish you never existed" and that would put an end to the djinn. Though it might also change the world in major ways given that the djinn is so old.

iirc they tried that in the first movie and it didn't work.

You need to understand the rules of the world within the movie. The djinn outlines that you can not interfere with that which is eternal. The djinn itself is eternal, a being that always was and always will be. The best you can do is wish for it to kill itself, but it would instantly revive. You also can't interfere with its wish-granting abilities, as they are tied to its power, which is eternal. The wish I'd make is "I wish you could never cause harm to anyone ever again; whether directly or indirectly". This allows all the critical elements of the rules to remain intact, but it indirectly takes away all his power, since he can no longer sacrifice souls.

From what I know that wouldn't violate any rules, but one flaw is that he might just decide to use that to destroy the world out of revenge. You said that he needs to be trapped in the core of Neptune, but didn't stipulate that he needs to go to Neptune. Neptune could also be brought to him. His powers are infinite after all. I'm also wondering if that could be contorted to mean a replica of planet Neptune. Might need to specifically say "The real planet Neptune". Your plan is good, but I have a feeling you might have fallen into the same trap so many other people have, with the wording.

Diamonds? No, gold. Diamonds don’t hold their value. And you’d have to wish for a high grade of diamond. There are lots of inferior diamonds that have little value.
