You Are Not Enough l Priya Sigdel (Miss Nepal Earth 2018) l The StoryYellers

Ms. Priya Sigdel won the title of Miss Nepal Earth 2018. She is working with SAJHA PARTY and now she is national vice-coordinator of Sajha Youth Organization. She is the president of HATTIHATTI, an NGO that empowers women from marginalized communities to help them become skilled entrepreneurs and independent individuals. She is also the Country Coordinator at UDAAN Foundation.She is a Development Studies Graduate. She has represented Nepal in international platforms like Global Changemaker Youth Summit 2017, Zurich and Bangladesh-Nepal Youth Convention 2017 in Dhaka.
‘My life didn’t started when I was born, my life has already started to change when my parents decided to be together’.As she grew up, she had many ‘you are not enough’ situations in her life and was always demotivated and unaccepted by people/society. And slowly her ‘You are Not Enough’ tag given by people became her goals. One day when she told that she would participate in Miss Nepal, no one believed her and took it very lightly. This was one of the biggest ‘You are Not Enough’ Tag for her. She came to Miss Nepal so that she wanted the world to know that there are 1000 girls/women like her, who work everyday not to change anything but to create something and that creation is to build the individual spirit. ‘You are not enough is your problem and not mine, and no one should try to control yourself’. She believes that the certain situations in her life didn’t change her but instead made her stronger.
Priya Sigdel further says - "One learning that I have and want to tell everyone is that, when people tell you, you are not enough ...I think you should change for better, and you should not bother explaining yourself , the only focus is don’t go for what others have to say.
She adds - "There are still many ‘you are not enough’ to come in my life but only one thing I would like to request everyone is don’t try to change yourself, try to create yourself, believe in yourself and love yourself. I’m Priya Sigdel Rai and I’m Proud that I was never Enough".

Let me tell you that your Nepali speaking is so engaging and magnetic. These days, many people of new generation that have had private school education speak Nepali almost as a pidgin language, somehow showing off that they find it easier to speak English than Nepali, and deliberately making their Nepali pronunciation very weird. The way words like 'actually, like, you know' etc. are used excessively in Nepali these days has emerged as an ornament of a snob. But the way you have spoken Nepali sounds more genuine than many other speakers. In today's Nepali, it is hard to avoid using any English words at all. Taking help from English vocabulary is acceptable to some extent. You have done that as well. But you are far from sham, which is commendable. And, your message in this talk is awesome.
