I think it's more of a collection of heuristics /concepts rather than collectection of games. If you think its collection of games and try to master it you are choosing a very tough path in poker because: - you are treating each spot differently that means you are relying a bit more on memory. Memory will fail you time to time. - you will bet spending a ton of time just studying and you have to manage your time. time is your most valuable resource in poker. You have to spend time to study, play, review HH, analyze opponents. So it's not like you can spend unlimited time just for studies. - what you will learn will be isolated to the spot. whereas conceptual learning means you can apply it universally. which means if you haven't come across a spot and board before you can fall back to concepts rather than memory. - this was of learning the game is so boring. why would you play poker in the first place so as not to uncover the beauty of the game.

you have to treat each spot differently, how can you treat a 4bet pot COvBTN the same as a BBvSB SRP, if you play the same in those spots you are doing yourself more damage than your opponent. you choose the spots that occur most frequently to study to gain most benefit
