Hello there! Another one from the 'Virtuoso" himself. Man, this must be the most refreshing Joe Pass tune I've heard in a while. Not only for the song he picked, but also how in great shape he was. He's mixing up every element of his style back to back without hesitation. It's truly a special performance. Enjoy! Sorry for the re-upload but there was a problem right in the 1st bar that I just could not let there.

saying "I can't" is the fastest way to make sure you never will. the tabs are right there for you, I'm sure with that much information you could muddle through it

Thanks, Francois! Another Joe Pass gem and not too hard to play, as far as Joe Pass goes.

Having only recently started the whole chord-melody style, one thing I don't understand...so many nice songs with great melodies start out with a bland intro that has nothing to do with the song. This is a perfect example. Nothing at all interesting about the intro compared to the song...yet they do it. They all do it. What am I missing? It's as if they can do a great job with a melody someone else wrote, but the music they add that is their own, is sterile. I realize taste is subjective, but if you ask non-musicians to listen to this, they invariably don't care about it until he plays the "good part". I've played recordings like this to a lot of friends over the years, and the complaint is almost invariably the same. So, what gives? P.S. thanks for the work here, you do a wonderful working them out.

He's just setting up the mood and style. There are intros in every genres of music and it's rarely the best part of the song. There's also an intro in the Stevie Wonder version. They're just playing music and having fun... no need to overthink it. Thanks for the good words by the way! Cheers!

@ Thanks for the perspective

because diving right into the melody isn't the video sometimes. it's nice to create a mood or set up an expectation that you then subvert

Not his best take on this tune. He has one that swings much more. Montreux session I believe.
