I picked up a 2006 Charger 5.7L R/T with nearly 250k miles on it, but engine replaced about 100k ago. Previous owner was a mechanic so things were kept in great shape (new interior, exhaust, well maintained, full log of service, etc.). Picked it up back in late November of 2021 for $6,000 as my first personally owned car. I have loved every moment so far (just passed our 1 year anniversary)! I've done a few mods (aftermarket radio, backup camera, new lights, auto-headlights, and some other things), but looking to do more. Yeah it has a lot of miles, but I enjoy driving it, and it has never let me down. I do wish it was AWD because the snow/ice/slush make it tricky to drive in the winter. Thanks for your informative video!

I’ve got a 06 Dodge Charger r/t with awd and it’s got 251k miles on it and not really any really big problems. All i’ve had to repair other than regular maintenance is drive axels and valve cover gaskets. The car runs strong and good plus being stock other than coil packs it still beats an handful of cars that you probably wouldn’t expect a 16 year old car to beat yk. The only downside is I wish I could do more mods im just afraid if I put too much on something is going to go wrong. But I definitely recommend these cars to any teenager that’s looking to have a fun, reliable and practical daily driver.

I honestly love my '08 super bee, the 6.1 is such a great motor and is so slept on, my only complaint is the mid 2000's chrysler interior, mostly just cheap plastic, although I do love the leather seats, they are very comfy and hold you in quite well. I highly recommend one of these cars from '08 and up. 2006 would most likely be okay but there were many recalls and issues due to it being first year. 2007 is most likely fine as well but I prefer the darker gray/black interior on the chargers '08 and up. (You can get the darker color on an '07 if you get a super bee, you will also get a carbon fiber center dash piece which would otherwise be that ugly silver color.
@HarrisHotRods.2 жыл бұрын
I believe yours has that carbon dash / radio bezel from a previous owner cause I haven't seen any super bees or whatever LX with that already there.. my 2006 300 srt8 had all solid dark black leather seats and was the most reliable car I've had out of the 13+ I been through that 1 gave me no trouble..
@drrkehrberg23092 жыл бұрын
@@HarrisHotRods. Mine doesn't have it, the only LX car (from what I know of) that has a factory carbon radio bezel is the '07 Super Bee . My 08' Super Bee doesn't have it.

Okay I hear ya! I always say Gotta leave room to learn! It's a lot to go over on these LX's! They are some really unique cars in their own ways. Gotta love em! I've seen those carbon dash kits like you can get on carid I just thought it might have been that. BUT THAT'S SICK!!!!

They are known for breaking the blend door in the heater box and then you have ac but no heat. Guess what. The parts are discontinued and junk yards don't want to mess with taking out the whole heater box since many already have broken blend doors. Only option now is an electric heater and hope they don't blow your fuses.

I have 101,000 on the 08 and haven't had to change the alt yet. The 07 I had to do ball joints on, but haven't had to do that on the 08 yet. I like to keep my cars stock so all i have is a cold air on it, other than that, It's as pure as the driven snow. I would never buy a modified hemi, and i think that most buyers would prefer an unmodified hemi because mods indicate a possible beating.

I've had really terrible experiences with Dodge v6 of that era. Our first LX was a 2006 Dodge charger V6 that we only got cause it was fixed up on 24s. It wasn't in our hands a month or 2 before it started ticking the loudest i have ever heard. Took it to the dealership and let Dodge put in a whole new head and done a lot there before they claimed it "fixed" picked it up with the new parts in fact there still ticking like tink tink! We drove it like that another week or 2 before moving on to Something else. Have had great experiences with the 6.1 though! It's all on maintaining over the years & miles.. don't cheap out on anything down to light bulbs! Looking at a 06 Daytona RT with 70k miles for 12k. Is it worth it?

If it’s clean title, has no check engine light, and runs and shifts fine I say absolutely! 💯

I’m getting one tomorrow for $1k. Engine is blown though so hopefully it won’t be too expensive to fix or have a good used one put in.
