@@JoeMakes my Guy do you happen to know any other companies that do this possibly located in San Antonio or Austin texas? I have a 10-year-old bulldog and I fear that he might go before I can find a place to get a 3D print of him. I'm trying to look for a place that does this same printing that's shown in the video with that ceramic 3D edited pictures. these seem to be the most beautiful 3D prints I've seen compared to average 3D printers that show rivets and bumps due to the printing process.

@@mitcheroar most 3d printing comapnies should be able to make these. i make them myself at home on my ender 3 pro. i use meshroom to create a digital model from pictures, smooth out the 3d model in blender and save the model as a file one of my slicer programs can use. If you don't have a 3d printer at home, you can always send that file of your pet to a 3d printing company and ask for a price. if you're lucky they can offer a colored one, maybe paint it themselves, if not, prepare your paint and brushes and do it yourself

meshroom is a good place to start. you need as any pics as you want, the better the resolution the higher the quality of the model. meshroom takes your dataset of pics and converts it into a 3d model. save it or add more pics if you want more detail. use blender to post process the model if you want to change some things. export it as a file your 3d printer slicer software can read. set your printers required settings for your filament o fchoice and wait till the print is done

No, the plaster is what is being dyed and special to that machine brand. There are other machines that use silicone and color (look up "polyjet")

You mentioned that they make the models with holes in them to recycle the internal powder. Was that process visible in this video, don't think I spotted it. Curious what the powder is? You mention it's fairly expensive and was hoping to get a rough idea of cost. Also be interested in the colour binder side as well, how expensive is that and how long does it last. I'm assuming there are 4 toners involved as it's mentioned as a CMYK colour printer

@@JoeMakes Thanks appreciate the feedback. I can see why they want to recover the internal powder to reduce waste/cost. Material costs and post processing do seem to be one of the downsides with these advanced 3d printers. But the result looked great.

When I did it I only used the images from my camera and it turned out great, so no post color fixing required

i use mehsroom, and load the highest possible resolution pictures i can get. the software makes a 3d model and if your pics are HD your model will come out equally detailed. some post production in blender might be needed to eliminate any defects or rough edges

@@smallnuts2 i only found out about all this a couple weeks ago. Bought a 3d printer to make spare mountainbike parts and now slowly getting into other fun stuff to print, including 3d models of friends and my own dog. Meshroom isn't too easy, although you can get pretty nice results if you use the "automatic mode" for creating 3d models but it's a very nice piece of software to start with photogrammetry. Having a KZbin tutorial ready while experimenting with the program is definitely recommended!

@@masterofapologetics5182 yes way. if you have enough pics you can. especially if you have pics from all sides. use Meshroom for very detailed 3d prints of any object. use monster mash (web tool) if you want a very basic model
