Hey I'd also like to add that for those who are learning, I HIGHLY recommend bringing a teleport to POH or something. This can save you a lot of money on grave fees because 95% of the time you don't just get k0ed, you know when you're fk'd and you're about to die. Sometimes it's best to just tele out and try again instead of dying and paying 400-500k+ to get your shit back. That's probably just pennies to ppl like you but that shit can add up and for mid-game level banks it can be a big deal.

As a note, it took me a bit to realize that the main middle tile behind the column is where you STOP to off tick a double south spawn. I've seen most clips start running E/W while killing fremmys, but this is a mistake if you get double south (non-manticore) spawn. Maybe I'm bad, but I hope this helps someone, helped me finally get past wave 6 consistently.

Great guide. A tip for timing 5 ticks at the start of the wave is to start ‘x’ tiles South of the optimal start tile and immediately click NW pillar. The movement automatically aligns you to 5t

Those and the warbanders at the same time…. I panic and die, usually, lol. But aside from that the mechanics with this strat feel solid. So it should just be practice now… we’ll see. Will update if I ever get that quiver :P Edited to say: I’ve been giving the atatl a shot rather than bofa. Seemed like it’d be better considering I can camp melee gear and have that for the final fight. Only thing is you definitely can’t really use myopia as the range is way too short. I might have to say f it and switch to bofa considering that for easier invos. Figured I should get used to the other ones in case I need it later though so this is how I’ve been practicing. Aside from the range problem I actually think atlatl does better dps wise with the melee gear tho

Thanks! Yep that double spawn is what will get you over and over until you’re comfortable. Although my first few completions were runs where that didn’t happen, which is fairly often (maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of the time for me) And yea, I could see the atlatl working if not for myopia. I didn’t mention invocations here since they were about to change and I also feel like they’re mostly figured out, but the invos are a huge part of your success in the colosseum and not having access to the 2nd “freeest” invocation can really screw you. Good luck though!

Good decision. I would 100% recommend Inferno first. I have infernal cape and I can confidently say that Colosseum is more difficult overall. Inferno is difficult in other ways, but I have definitely died more to the Colosseum than I did Inferno

I refuse to believe that was actually your first try on Sol Heredit you definitely did some sort of prep the way you nearly tick perfect every attack and knew what the timing on all his abilities. Gnomemonkey is one of the best at this game and even his earliest world record colosseum you can see he made a hundred mistakes on the boss.

Nice vid! I've died every wave when I've gotten the "worst case" with a Manticore + Ranger/Mager spawning south. Does it matter which style the Manticore is attacking with? For this example at 16:00 it was a mager first Manticore, but would this have worked if it was a Ranger Manticore? (because then you'd want them to be attacking you on the same tick)

Nope it doesn’t matter which style. If it was a range first manticore, the flicking might feel more awkward, but they’d still be attacking at different times, there’s no “need” for them to attack at the same time, it would just make it easier :) the nice thing about this strat is that it doesn’t matter what spawns, you can be sure that they are flickable, though it may end up being a bit awkward

Can you still offtick pray against it? Running north of the pillar in wave 6 to avoid is bad because you would now have a manticore/ranger on you instead, plus reinforcements to deal with.

@@guidefox yep so if you run to the middle tile, A and B will be offticked always. the reason you have to run to a different tile with a manticore first is because the manticore attacks 3 ticks in a row, which overlaps with when the other enemy would hit you normally

the easiest way to do this is to just have your prayer set to the first style the manticore will use, then as soon as you see the first orb come out switch to the next, and again for the 3rd. Do this on wave 4 on the manticore in isolation until you have a feel for the timing. to answer your question more specifically though your prayer needs to be set as it launches the projectile, if you see the projectile moving and you haven't switched your prayer yet it's too late

How do you take care of the minotaur and mage reinforcement on wave 10+ when the mager's in front and you still have A+B spawns on you? One of the perks of southwest pillar is you can stand on a tile to always set up the minotaur blocking the mager, but that doesnt seem to work on northwest pillar when the mager spawns in front.

I just wish there was a way to deal with the shaman reinforcement on wave 10 and 11 if you are doing the A-B offtick with a manticore and another mob. I have yet to see any guides mentioning any possible ways to solve it, and haven't been able to figure it out for myself either

Well there isn’t necessarily a hard solve but if you step out 3 tiles out from the northwest side of the pillar it will draw aggro from the mage. In any case wave 10/11 if you get the double spawn put on your offensive prayers and with good gear you should pretty much always be able to kill one of the enemies before the reinforcements, leaving you only flicking the mage and whatever’s left, and like I said you can force the mage to attack you at a certain time. It’s not ideal though

my luck is always a mager/ranger or manti/ranger that spawn south and both on same tick.. i get smited instantly by them and fremmys.. made it to boss once and since then i just cant make it past wave 9 now just from bad and unlucky double south spawns. sometimes double south spawns occur multiple times a run it sucks! everyone says its rare but with how often it happens i think its not very rare

so if you use the right tiles a double south will always be offticked - make sure you memorize where to go! but yes they can be quite frustrating to deal with when you're learning, and i've heard people say 1/3 chance to make it to wave 12 with no double south spawns. haven't done the math myself but from experience that sounds about right
