As a killer main I’ve grown a beef with Leland’s. He’s now become the Donkey Kong to my Dashie. I had a round where a Leland just snuck around and followed me and just kept stabbing me whenever I wasn’t actively chasing him so I couldn’t get anything done. So I had to tunnel buddy out the game. This beef with Leland is so great that I won’t even play him now either. Leland players are now my enemies.

I recommend playing Family to learn objectives and maps. I did a lot of family first, then I went to victim and I know how to escape on every exit on every map.

some helpful tips: at the start; don’t go right out the front door of your cell. you can run right into Leatherface without any awareness of what direction to run. go out the side crawl spaces: it also ensures you have at least once crawl space that you know about to run to. Toolboxes are sometimes spawning right in these adjacent rooms too, so it’s a good place to start searching. don’t grab any medicine at the start. it isn’t needed, keeping the basement stocked with medicine will help those who have to take a well back into the basement. it’s the safest place to recuperate grab 2 lockpicks at the start if your going for an electric gate exit. you can grab 2 from the same box. lucky/ efficient lockpicker can really help you do a lot of damage fast if it procs and no killer interrupts you. refill your lockpick before opening the basement door if you plan to run to do an unlock escape. grab a bone knife if you plan to distract killers, play aggressive, or if there’s a hitchhiker. Bomb Squad is a good perk to let you disarm his traps without the Bone Knife. don’t shut loud doors; it hurts your teammates by causing them to make loud noise. it hurts you too if you have to restart in the basement via a well. take note of wells and use them when needed. especially if the Hitchhiker or Sissy are on you. you will have a lot of difficulty losing them in the open areas upstairs. this is also why you don’t what to shut loud doors; wells are your best friend. if grandpa is leveling up fast and objectives aren’t getting pushed, your going to need to go in for a stab. you’ll be highlighted to all the killers for a few seconds… either run down a well or down into the nearest basement exit (or upstairs in family house). these are the best places to lose multiple family members. take lots of turns after going though gaps and crawl spaces; this is how to lose Sissy and Hitchhiker. for attributes; i’d rank then in importance as Stealth, Proficiency, Stamina, Endurance, Strength. Stealth and Proficiency impact the time it takes to do many things quickly, the other 3 are still quite important; but most of your perk selections are probably going to help you out with your running and survival game. it’s harder to improve bad Stealth/ Proficiency with perks (outside of the ones that directly increase those stats). for Perks some that id recommend are: Lucky/ Efficient Lockpicker, Choose Flight, What Doesn’t Kill You, No Sell, Stunt Double, Jump Start, Slippery, Bounce Back Better, Agitation, Bomb Squad, Pick on Me (if your bad at using comms). … but these last 2 paragraphs are more for a unlocker and looper play style. if you want to play aggressive, the perk that refills your health after winning a close encounter, not consuming your bone knife, longer stun times all seems busted when paired tougher. i don’t know the names of these perks and haven’t tried this play style myself.

I dont know if this would fit in with the build, but there's a random perk for Leland and its called efficient backstabber, at base kit it gives you a 20% chance to keep your bone shard after a backstab

@@OkMiddi mate i couldnt even MOVE away to begin with, i got lucky my team woke grandpa and then sissy came down there with a poison cloud...got my revenge though, got 3 of them, and one was the super toxic leland. they need to change it so after being stunned a like 30 or 45 second cooldown starts before you can be stunned again...and of course that shouldnt start until youre fully recovered from the stun...its gonna kill the game eventually

Chaining stuns needs to be nerfed for sure, but I’ve taken out quite a few Leland’s trying to do this tactic. This won’t work against experienced players, especially when most leatherface players have builds that 2-3 shot people.

I got stun like this too, but the leland stun me on the door first and then he also stun me with the door slam. And there is a perk that increases the door stun to i believe 16 seconds. And for some reason my bubba doesn't fall far from the down when stunned so he could keep stunning me with just the door slam. And I teamchat my team and said: "HELP, I'M BEING BULLIED BY LELAND". Johnny then come to the rescue. Leland get karma. :)

This game has gotten impossible as a Victim for the casual gamer. I only get to play maybe once per week and already facing Bubbas that are all the way leveled up that can kill you with one hit before you get out of the basement. I really like this game, but people that play this 24/7 going against low level gamers just ruined it. You can tell me to get good all you want, but I just want to have some fun and my matches only last 1-2 minutes before I get killed & I can’t do anything about it.

Speaking as a maxed out Leland, for aggressive players I max out my strength and endurance on him as much as I can. I then run choose fight, agitator, and the perk that heals you after close encounters. I put my ability level on the 10 second duration, regain stamina, and the concussion effect.

a have a similar build but with high endurance and strength. there was a round where i backstabbed bubba a total of 7 times the whole round. 4 times in the basement and three times outside on the gas station map. but you get more out of the perks by doing this to all of the other family members

Had a match that a Leland and Ana would take turns with the backstabs. And Leland would shoulder charge on CD. I was fine with it more or less. They were wasting time with two bullying a leatherface. Sadly teammates didn't exactly capitalize on the fact I had two busy for about 2 minutes after they woke grandpa. Then Ana died so the Leland dipped faster then a startled deer. Overall while stun locks can be annoying if two of them are focusing on that, yes they are farming a ton of points for exp. But that leaves a virtual 2v2 for exits.

Valve, fuse, battery, generator. I main victim and sometimes this game feels very family sided. However you have other options. My tip is to try the valve as they are pressured to either turn it off and you stay and stab while others do different escape or family camp the exit. You could also turn valve on and run to try a different exit too. It is also why a fighter victim is important for the game, all the family mains complain saying to nerf things about fighters, ummm no that would ruin balance.

​@iTheFrenchReaper under the assumption that the killers aren't 1. In comms 2. Rushing basement 3. Running 3 shot builds 4. Running grandpa rush 5. You and your teammates coordinate perfectly. 3 killers is more than enough to monitor 4 exits even if you exclude all 5 points I just mentioned. Bone Traps, padlocks, Poison baits, and them simply walking back and forth is hard enough unless you are a maxed out specialist. Plus the steps it takes and distance needed to travel to use a single escape.

Sonny basically has wall hacks within a 36 meter range for leather face (cause chainsaw go brr and you just need to connect the dots) and about 20 meter range for the other family members (you can use their voicelines or steps) Julie can fake the fusebox or pressure valve and rush the generator while the killers camp on the opposite end, very self sustaining. Personally, I think they are fine if played right.

I mean, I’ve been playing both victims and the family but played more as a victim so I can say that the victims are actually underhanded in 6 out of 10 games, they really need a game changer. I can say, I’m a very good stealth victim as Sonny and a decent family member as Johnny. 50/50 I would escape as Sonny and 80/100 I would get atleast 3 kills in every game as Johnny both as a solo queuer. So, even if there’s a single family member who knows what to do and very good at it, you are screwed my man. The problem with victim players are they’re noobs and family players are they don’t want to communicate through voice comm.
