That was actually better than I expected. The little details in the hardware is quite nice. For what it is, it's pretty cool and although it's probably more useful as a collectable than something you'd actually play, it's quite neat and the price isn't awful.

I just got one of these at the Cracker Barrel yesterday. As impractical as it is to play, it's got to be one of the coolest "retro gaming" toys I've ever seen. The detail on the Atari itself is awesome, and you just can't beat that little mock CRT TV! The fact that they even went through the trouble of adding fold-out legs and fake antennas on top is super cool. I do wish the game selection were a bit better (too many of them require a spinner for optimal play), but for under $30 this thing is a steal IMO.

I am guessing it a boring blob also. He takes apart every new piece of hardware before he even does his first power up (which is one of the reasons I love his videos). It surprised me that he didn't take this one apart. I also want to see how did they manage to make a joystick and a power button work with such a tiny wire. There must be a few strands of wire inside the wire that connects the mini TV to the mini console and then to the mini joystick.

Considering it takes virtually no computing power to run atari 2600, no wonder they can make such a small machine. I remember as a kid playing on it at friends house, while we were kids, and i think while there watched france beat brazil in 1986 world cup. I always remember that the joystick was rubbish, and they really were, but we at that time knew no different, as atari 2600 was probably the best most people could afford at those times. Mad, how far all this has gone in our lifes, for us, who lived through all the years of consoles, and when they started back then. Its amazing to see what consoles can do today. I just wonder do todays kids get as much enjoyment at playing todays games, as we would of, back when atari 2600 was still a thing. Amazing how today the games can be played on virtually anything.
