You Can Do This in the Game | Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

In The Witcher 3, players can reach Hjalmar's axe during the main quest "The King is Dead-Long Live the King" by winning a race up a mountain and pulling the axe from a tree stump.
The race
Players can follow Yennefer through the castle to the banquet hall, where they can greet the host and agree to participate in a race. The race path is highlighted on the mini-map, and players can win by sprinting and sticking to the path.

To win the competition, players must be the first to reach the top of the mountain and pull the axe from the tree stump.
