I have 2 degrees in Mech Eng (one in automotive) and did a similar install on a W204 and it took me literally 4 days to get it almost right. Tbh, it was simple plug and play, but with the added components, putting everything back the way it looked before was the real challenge.

Thanks for the video. Just make sure what screen connection you ve got before purchasing the kit. I ve got the kit but my screen is connected with metal square connector instead of round plastic one supplied with the kit. So now I am looking for another headunit + screen + cable.

This would be worth it if it didn't cost more then the touchscreen upgrade that comes with carplay and Android auto. I believe that screen is like $500 or $600 dollars, larger screen and tablet-like functionality. This should be more around the $200 dollar price range imo 😕

I’ve had both. The road play module and the tablet screen. I have the screen still installed now had it for a few years and to be honest it sucks. The road play module that uses the factory screen is way better in my opinion. I screwed up when I installed the screen. Don’t get me wrong the screen is cool and functions but the module was way better and worked better.

ive used one of those aftermarket screens before and they are so bad. they fail after a few months and often are very slow or buggy to respond. while this is expensive, its likely expensive because its an option that allows you to retain the stock interface, which is harder than just replacing with a whole new screen.
