the issue is different. MB charges f..ng huge money for a f..'ed up display. I would be worried more about Android updates than about how modern it looks.

Just finished my install, thanks to this video. My factory OEM video for reversing camera and multimedia was all distorted and had to Google the factory code, go into the factory menu and change the screen resolution, then everything looked normal including reversing camera. Hope this helps someone.

After watching lots of videos on Android installs I trusted you and went with DMP Car Design 12.5 screen and Ambient light on my 2011 Mercedes CLS AMG. I have to say I have never in all my experience dealt with a company that is so customer orientated and willing to help. I had about 20 emails and a couple of whatsapp calls and they fixed my issues. Nearly all was my mistake....eg not connecting the audio cable which I thought did not need to be done. This was done with about 8 hours time difference too as I am in Ireland. I just wanted to say this as these guys, and you, seem to be really good guys......Tomas and Wendy from DMP Car Design and their installer who was on the phone to me during his own install....................and good guys need breaks too

Well just completed my install and can say that putting the radio back in was extremely challenging due to the wire harness. Something they need to modify for future flexibility. Other than that I did run the wires all the way back into the center council. The easiest way to do this is to run the wire up the right side near the back of the council about 6 inches before you get to the rear ashtray. Inside the council glovebox pull out the little plastic tab that’s in the center underneath the cloth cover. You can run a long metal wire to pull the plug up through the hole. I added an extension so the end plug would be straight. Looks clean and works great.

Done this for 3 different C classes now, thanks Flexx for paving the way! I don’t recommend the upgraded screen after this model though, they might be smoother and faster but have a few bugs that don’t seem like they should be on the screen of a Mercedes Benz whereas this older style (the one I’ve put back in my car) works flawlessly. It is worth noting that the font is a bit big and resolution is a kinda low but I’ve modified both of those using apps from the play store

Great video! Just installed in my C250. I had a problem getting sound at first, but figured out the fiber optic was in the wrong port. Moved it and now everything works fantastic. Probably added 1k value to my car. Works perfectly. Thanks for the good quality, detailed video? Tip: Using a T20 screwdriver to remove the two screws at the top of the head unit is very tough. I went to Lowes and found a Craftsman mini ratchet set for about twelve bucks with a few Torx bits, including the T20, that worked great getting those two screws out.

@@KCKnowsBest Make sure the fiber optic is in the right port. There are two of them. I had mine reversed. Also go into advanced settings and enable the AUX. For the factory radio, make sure the setting is on "FM" for sound. If using it for internet, KZbin, Hulu...change to AUX and for your phone is "Bluetooth."

Well another kit eventually arrived. The strip down went well but the install was a literally a nightmare. If you’re thinking of purchasing one be very aware that fitting the radio back in will test your patience, your endurance and your sanity. This seems to be a common issue but hey I eventually got the bastard in. After that the install went to plan and I was glad to have my facia back together again. Must admit it does look awesome however as I type this I don’t have a ntg screen or any sound from Bluetooth or access to any boot up logos in the menu ( literally nothing there 🤷‍♂️) I’ve contacted DMP for help and await their guidance - I’ll update you all later

Got the NTG screen up & running, anyone else having this problem go to the resolution settings in the settings menu, you have 8 option simply select one until the NTG pops up. Try number 8 first that works on mine 👍🏻

So aux is for sound, your display is like a smartphone and to bring sound to the mercedes command you have to connect aux, USB is for updating your screen

I bought a full HD Screen. So guys if you have sound problems dont forget to put the original fiber opticcables into the "new 40Pin block", put aux Mode on, turn on System Sound of the screen and enjoy sound. I recomand to isolate the aux cable against magnetic fields. The cable and the sound are not good. But i can watch tv and use new Navigation System. So its okay. I also can use the old comand System and change fast by typing in the "disc" Button. Sorry for.my english. Press like

i cannot for the life of me manage to stuff the radio back in with the stupid quadlock extension in the way, its way too bulky to stow underneath and too short to pull over to the glovebox hole

@@justinsmith26 after a lot of attempts i decided to fully disconnect the radio unit so i could route the wires more neatly, then it managed to fit underneath it behind the ac control unit and slide back. it didnt fit perfectly though as it did snap a bit of the plastic as i tightened the locking screws at the end, but I'm just glad its over

you have to get a CarPlay dongle they're like $100 maybe cheaper if you get a wired one and it will plug into the USB port. I actually found the same screen that already has wireless CarPlay built in I found it on eBay

They did on the 2015+ but only if you got a more premium package on the car. And none of their packages have android interface for apps.

I have the same problem.. my phone connects to both screen and NTG4.7 via bluetooth.. Audio and video files play on my screen withOUT any sound?!! But audio files work perfectly thru my old NTG4.7 Did u find any solution?!!

Change the factory system to AUX mode before using the new headunit, as the sound will output back to factory system through factory AUX channel, thats why he adds an AMI to AXU cable in the glove box
