I always thought you had to have talent to draw..ALWAYS! About 6 years ago i realized that i had been misinformed from kindergarten!! Now one in my education had ever taught us how to use or find creativity. We had art...but everyone knows elementary art class is a joke. I TAUGHT MYSELF WITH KZbin AND IVE NEVER BEEN MORE FULFILLED!! please listen to kristy...shes a brilliant And loose teacher that knows how to have fun!

My kids always assumed I could draw. I assumed I could not and had no idea why they assumed I could. They were correct. Lol. My youngest demanded I draw and paint a dinosaur on her high top purple Converse. It turned out she was correct. It turned out great! I was shocked. She said “you’re weird Mommy. I don’t why you say that.” She’s 28 now. She still thinks I can draw. I still question it.

Wow! You were right, Kristy! It was indeed the most important video I have watched in a long time! I love color, and I love flowers and art. But I am just beyond awful. So I collect paint and brushes and paper, but put off using them, because I fear another dismal art session. I have never thought of it as just play time with no outcome. That is a great attitude to take on!

Sketching out that hydrangea was FUN! Never thought I'd be able to create something even close to resembling an actual hydrangea..... but here I am, killing it! Lol!! Your instruction style is exactly what I have been hoping to find, whether I initially knew it or not. You make the process so easy to understand that it actually feels achievable - even for a newbie like me. I absolutely LOVE flowers, and until now, I never thought I'd have success recreating them on paper with my own two hands. This video changed my mind. Thank you!

Love you, your channel, and your videos. You give art its personality. I am sorry. I have no idea what you mean by "making comic smiles", but you Peony/Rose looks so amazing. Please give another way of expressing the shape. So, so beautiful. Jazza often talks about line weight, but does not explain when, where, or why to use line weight. However, as I just mentioned, you give everything from watercolours to lines personalities. I absolutely love it because I never saw this no matter who else told me. I only am starting to see it with you. Thank you ❤. You are 100 percent correct wedding magazines are great for florals and composition. Thank you for pointing this out. "Love" only approximately twice or three times since you asked 😊.

This was a terrific collection of floral sketches that's about to decorate one of my sketchbook pages. Hopefully you'll get a kick out of the fact that I couldn't help but think of the "Feed me, Seymour" scene in "Little Shop of Horrors" when you put the cracks in the flower buds. I'm forever going to think of that when I see flower buds that are slightly cracked open.

Hi Kristy, have you ever looked at a professional floral design magazine? I used to do floral designing and I loved my floral design magazines with cover to cover floral pictures. Now, it has been many years since I was in the industry, but I still kept all the my magazines because the photography was phenomenal! Not only do you get beautiful photography of flowers close up but spectacular floral designs as well.🌺🌹🌷🌸💮

@@KristyRice The two that I subscribed to in the 1980's to 1990's were 'Professional Floral Designer' and 'Flowers &'. Unfortunately, I believe that both magazines not in business now. The first magazine had more pictures and the second magazine had less pictures but more techniques on floral arrangements. I would call some of your floral shops in larger cities and ask the florist if they recommend any floral design magazines with emphasis on photographs. 🌺🌸🌼

I am very new to watercolor - and I never know if I should be leaving my sketch lines or if I should be trying to erase them. Some artists leave their pencil lines and others erase them or sketch so lightly that their marks are not seen. What are your thoughts on pencil lines in your watercolor designs? I definitely appreciate your thoughts on this topic.
