To animators out there: don't despair even if the work is hard and you feel discouraged when your stuff isn't getting anywhere. Focus on creating valuable stuff for your customers or target audience. Bit by bit you'll know how to sell your value for what its worth. Trial and error my friends.

Thanks buddy! I too started animation and I can't say i'm good or bad at it but I love it alot. To be honest I don't think you're not good because art and animation is subjective. You just have to keep doing it, and sharing it for people to appreciate. Bring art to life isn't something anyone can do, I'd say you've got it!

I love animation, and right now, im trying to get in school for 2d animation. However, i know that 3d animation is wildly more popular with bigger companies. i have second thoughts if i should be learning 3d animation instead? Im hoping I can get a good job in the future that pays well so im not entirely sure what to do? Edit: Also! The type of animation I want to create are Cartoons like steven universe, owl house, even old cartoons like Danny Phantom, and Kim Possible. Cartoons that have an impactful story for not only kids but for all ages!
@Wengsome Жыл бұрын
You'll need to determine what's best for you - 2D or 3D because both are very different animation career paths in the industry. If you have the passion for 2D, depending on where you're from the career choices could be lucrative or could be pretty bad if there's not much demand. In some ways 3D probably is better for learning and picking up a wider range of skills. That said, both have their pro and cons, I still recommend learning the art of 2D is more beneficial, when you have that base, getting into 3D is easier.

Is there a way to avoid copyright claim on music as an animator? I see many popular animators get millions of views on their animatics/animations, and there's no way they don't get claimed, and it could earn them money otherwise¿

Heyyy there Jeff. Thank you so much for the kind thoughts. I've seen you before I recall! Think it was one of your live streams. I've got to ask you for your thoughts on streaming, do you find it interesting and as a professional animator in your own right- is live streaming a great experience to connect with your viewers?
@JeffNotes2 жыл бұрын
Ohh, from my experience on streaming, it's an amazing way to connect with your viewers and your own community in general. Have you tried it out? I really liked it, but I had to stop for a bit because it's taking time away from my production. I think streaming would be really cool if you're doing something interesting in it as well, streaming-wise

Got to agree with you there too, animation clients don't come by easily but when starting small, you still get the odd jobs if you push for it. There are times where you feel your hours don't equal to the kind of money the clients are paying; just don't ever do any of the jobs for free. Not even for "exposure".

Hello! Thank you for this video... do you have any more information on how to get a job with a guaranteed salary, while working for a boss? (First way to get paid mentioned in your video.) I'm not sure where to look when finding opportunities like that, or what's required to get hired by these company's. If you have any more info on that then that would be great!
@Wengsome Жыл бұрын
Hey there Meloqy. Well getting a permanent job with a fixed salary at least guarantees stability. That form of employment is usually working for people (a.k.a your boss), while you gain experience. Working in the graphic / animation / creative industry, you'll need to grind your way up. The more you grind, the more experience you get- you'll then be able to take up freelance projects while working for a boss. The only problem is you're always super tired from 9-5 hours, you'll need to set aside time to work on those projects as well. The neat thing is sometimes those freelance projects lead to recurring deals. The outside client likes your work, they'll engage you long term. Hope that helps or gives you a lil idea of what you can do even being in employment.

@Wengsome11 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late reply friend. There's alot of fanmade animations of Minecraft on KZbin. You only get to make money if you are in their partner program so you'll have to secure those Watch Hours and subs first. 5 minute animations will need a lot of watch time, meaning you'd need to create a-lot of animations for that. It is possible, just need to get into the Adsense program first.

Hi Sifat. Pick up animation skills and there are clients looking for specific skillsets. Animators range from $20 - $30 per hour, depending on the animation type. 2D / Cel Animation can find freelance jobs easier than 3D animators.
