I watched the entire video, and I still don't know what it was about, nor do I know what a pika screw is, or what's so special about it.

I love your Pika Screws and think they look awesome. I also have an Etsy Store, but i have enough problems with my buyers telling me that installing the most dirt simple drywall anchors are "super difficult" even with an install video and step by step instructions. It sucks trying to cater to the lowest common denominator.
@AndrewKleinWW9 ай бұрын
Oh pika screws are way easier than drywall anchors, I get that struggle!

All in all Etsy stores for woodworkers sound like a complete nightmare. Trying to sell something extremely general yet still unique at the lowest possible price point to a extremely variable crowd at serious cost.. is there still money to be made in your opinion? I've been curious but without anyone close to me to provide tangible insights I'd rather stick to my furniture commissions and freelance work for other businesses for the time being. Customers are a hard find sometimes but good ones know what they want and are willing to pay and wait for it.

Hello Andrew, I would love to see a non pika version of your screw, one with no screw method. This would let you have lower cost "dummy screw heads" so for a square lid, you can have 3 aesthetic screws that can't be screwed and one pika screw that actually holds the lid on. These dummy screws could be held in with nuts or glue. Maybe a nail in version could be interesting!

Right there , I bet that belt hanger would sell on Etsy. Nice high end look with those Pika Screws.

I love the whole pika screw idea especially for furniture and I think it’s great that you make these projects that show off the screws, However for these hangers I don’t see the point? Why not just make the wood hanger with a brass piece and put a regular drywall screw in the back of it? Maybe I’m missing something but to me that seems to be the simplest solution

A nice idea - for my use! One more thing, 50 years of electronics/shop safety - NO jewelry in the shop! It's amazing what can get hooked on a ring!

Good, unless you are right by an ocean, then not so good. I’d need to jump to 316 SS for that, maybe someday

Are all of the Pika Screws made of 400 grade stainless or is it just the big ones? I wasn’t going to divulge my plans, but considering how long it’s going to take me to get to ‘em, and how unlikely it is someone beats me to it, eh why not. I’m restoring a car with a fiberglass body at the moment and there are 4 main bolts that hold it to the chassis. They are originally captive nuts, but I think it will be way cooler to drill all the way through the body and use exposed hardware. I planned on some black button head hexes, but flush mounted Pika screws would probably be even more awesome. And I think they would also fit the brutalist style I’m going for. I’m not concerned about them rusting in place, I own an angle grinder after all, Lol. I just don’t want the illusion of a solid metal plate to be ruined from some minor corrosion on the outline of the inner drive. Not to say that won’t stop me from trying anyway.

Do you know what alloy of stainless you're going to make the Mico Pikas out of? Asking because I'm thinking of using them to hold wall panels in on a yacht. But 306 and even 316 do really badly with the salt spray.

304, not sufficient for salt spray, maybe someday

Ok, suppose you made a map of America, or Europe, or Asia ... whatever ... and you put a threaded insert into every state or country or capital, or like every MLB stadium ... you get rhe idea. Then, you screw in a pikascrew for every one you visit. Could be cool. Or dumb. Definitely one of those two.

Would it have killed you to discuss for 15 or 30 seconds that a "pika screw" is simply a screw with a hidden/spring loaded slot? Saying the viewer should go watch another video first is weak! Thumbs down. Don't recommend channel!
