Hello. A few months backwards I left a comment on one of your videos talking about my problems with pathological lying. It was basically me "coming out" to people and trying to be as honest as possible. Now a few months later, my girlfriend and I are celebrating today. I have lived a deception free month. I have not lied for an entire month, and I'm here to thank everyone who supported my comment those few months ago. You guys have really helped me a lot and I am so grateful. Thank you.

Ephem, you are a beautiful person. 6 weeks ago I got a very bad concussion, couldn't speak, some visual loss, whiplash, just pretty bad stuff. I had to avoid screens, couldn't go for walks without getting headaches, and I couldn't read, write, make art, or even play with play doh as an adult - it was too hard mentally for me! I'm back now, thankfully, and your podcasts helped me get through those weeks of recovery. I could play your EphemRadio podcast in the background, dipping in and out, and I don't remember what you'd said in them but I know it brought me great calm and was perfect when I was healing. It's not really anything big but I wanted to share. I used to be so in shape, working out everyday. I was addicted. Since i've gotten into a relationship I have gained so much weight, I was 180lbs and now I am 225lbs all in just a year. To a lot of people that's not really a lot and it's not considered unhealthy, I mean I'm 19 so I know that every inconvenience feels like the end of the world to me when it's really not but I have grown so much hate for myself not just physically but mentally for not being able to discipline myself for so long. Today I listened to this on the treadmill and ran a mile and did my weightlifting and I just have to share how much this helped me. For the first time in a while I feel like I have earned the day and while it's not alot I can say that I worked my ass off and I am proud of myself. Thank you so much.

It's definitely all about what stage of life someone might be at, too. Mid-to-late 20s, beer was everything. Definitely not every day, and never 'addicted' to alcohol, but it impacted relationships, self-worth, self-image, and it started to affect my stamina and health (elevated liver enzymes). I'm 32 now, and while I still drink on occasion (light beers), it doesn't hold the same level of fascination. I've found I want to get more accomplished and learn new things that I couldn't do pissed and hungover. I think for most people, and definitely what I found, the idea of filling in 60, 70, or if you're lucky, 80 years of human consciousness is a maddening prospect - and at low points, just filling in a single day can be terrifying. Just my two cents worth, you definitely need to find a new, positive, and *productive* obsession, something tangible you can show yourself and others before dealing with something like booze.
