just to clarify you need 2 credit lines they do not have to both be credit cards for example you can have one line of credit and one credit card counts as your two or 2 cards or 2 locs etc

Excellent video and in fact so well researched. Quick questions, regarding impact on credit score: 1. If I have additional credit cards and do not use them at all. (For example my 3rd credit card) 2. Impact on early repayment of car loan. Looking forward to your answer. Thanks and Take care

Okay and point number 7 is totally incorrect. If application comes joint bank always see over all risk tolerance. So doesnt matter if your score is lower but if your joint applicants score is higher than the max bank can do is to remove lower scores income. They will need to know the reason for your lower score. So dont worry. Even with 650 score you can get approved.

The objective of a credit card is to give credit for 45 days interest free. As you have suggested to pay twice , then you are not getting full credit period. Hence its defeats the purpose of using a credit card ! We have a conflict here.

Tips: - You get to check your credit score free once in a year else you have to pay for the report. - You can create an alert on your credit as when there is a credit check the bank/institution is liable to obtain your consent and by that you can make sure that yes you have are have authorized the credit check. I hope it helps.

Just FYI guys its not all about credit scores. Bank always review your over all profile and approve decline depending on it. I am underwriter. And have 1 cc is not a reason for decline. Financial advisors will never disclose full reason. Lol.

1. Does it make sense to open a new bank account with another bank for our 2nd Credit card? (Because sometimes other banks provide some different offers) 2. Would it make sense to get the 2nd CC by opening a joint bank account (spouse + me) with existing or different bank?

Very helpful video, thank you for sharing this. Should we get multiple credit cards from separate banks or different kinds of credit card from same bank. For example, if I have a BMO visa credit card, do I simply ask BMO to issue me a Master card or go to RBC or TD for a new credit card?
@Amiralyb3 жыл бұрын
It is always good to have relationship with at least 2 banks. E.g you want to apply for Line of Credit / Loan Bank A is offering you with 5% and bank B is offering you with 7% so you have options to compare and choose between those. Plus, banks do offer good Loan amounts which are pre-approved. I hope this helps.

In the USA, earlier this year I used my credit card to 60% of the limit and forgot make the payment before time (30%). My credit score dropped immediately. The auto payment did go through a few days later and the score came up back to where it was. The good thing was that the credit card company contacted me a few days later and increased my limit by 70%. Also, I had a question and need some advice. Is it good to pay off our car loan earlier if we have the funds? Is it worth doing it?

this is not a hard and fast rule. I myself only have one card (and am going to keep it that way) but i was approved for a mortgage. I am single so there is no one else on the loan but I do have overdraft protection on one of my accounts (which is revolving credit) so that could have helped. My score stays above 800.

Hahah yea i totally agree with you. Even 1 card for more than 24 months is okay. I have approved applications even with 500 score. So its not always credit score lol. I somehow dont fully agree with their analysis. Like few points are okay.

I have one credit card , always use it less than 30% but I don’t wait for the bill date. Once I use it I pay the bill in maximum day or two, still my credit score is around 670. Have been in Canada since 2 yrs, no defaults on payments ever. Reason ?
@canadianjatti3 жыл бұрын
Pay it once a month not more right now. I noticed my score dropped when I was making too many payments. At the most should be 2 payments a month to it. No more. I do one payment a month. My score is over 800 (maximum score is 900).
@yadwinderberi81993 жыл бұрын
@@canadianjatti how many days before do you pay it before the bill generation date
@canadianjatti3 жыл бұрын
@@yadwinderberi8199 I actually don't pay attention to that. I pay it near the end of every month and it works out fine. Just need to not be late so if its normally due on the 1st you can do middle of every month. Just do ONE payment though.
