Nice job. I'm in the process of cutting trails through my 40 acres right now. My property has some pretty steep hills, and pretty good ruts and swells in it (from glaciers back in the day I'm guessing?). Our property was also selectively logged about 15 years ago, so I've got stumps all over the place. Luckily I've got my BX 2350 with the Woodland Mills stump grinder to take out the stumps, and I'm making my trails large enough to also drive my Kioti 7320 cab through the woods as well, so I'm having to cut my trails about 10' wide. Trying to get it all done now before the undergrowth gets too high and the bugs get too bad, and hopefully while the bears are still hibernating LOL! I like watching these kinds of videos to see how other people are doing the same thing that I am, so that maybe I can get an idea of how something different than I'm doing may work better.

Those will be some nice trails! That stump grinder will definitely come in handy.

That is one really nice thing about having a small compact or even subcompact: you can be very creative with trails. I had to widen mine a lot, and could stand to clear a few more pines out of the way. They feel less like trails and more like roads when your tractor/loader/brush cutter is around 25 feet long. You just can't whip it around easily. The BX has to be awesome for atv trails. Perfect size. Great video!

That’s the first thing I told my wife after finishing these trails! That little BX is just the perfect tractor for that work! Really makes great ATV trails!

Accessing areas of property you already own is almost like buying more land!! 👍 Good work....should be a fun place to recreate...bunnies are no longer safe. 🐰 I think someone ate some leaves on that ATV property tour though!! 🤣

I’ve already seen more deer and rabbits since we opened up these trails! Also, first thing I said when I got back from the tour ride was, “We forgot to trim that last trail…”. 😂

Nice job guys! I wish we had property to make trails on. When we first bought our fields were weeds taller than us. They had trails cut through them and we used to walk them every night. now we turned it into pasture so no more trails. Oh well some day. That looked like a fun trail! Keep up the great work!

Thanks! Y’all have nice pastures which creates lots of other options. Probably more productive that riding ATVs. Haha.

Love blazing new trails! I only have 4 acres so my trails are established, so it's only maintenance of cutting back the growth. Well done, and I love battery tools! Take care.

It’s been a while since I tuned in. A lot of chaos in my life! . . . I like the trail clearing technique. Made me think, “Chaos in the front . . . “near” perfect in the back”. The vines are pretty satisfying to bush hog aren’t they?! I’ve been known to condemn them verbally in my line of work. lol Stay safe out there! - Samuel

Not sure what was running ahead of you at 3:11/10:41. Lucas, it may have been a rabbit or large mole. Having the brush hog behind the tractor does make things easier. Take care and stay safe.

I just went and watched it and I see what you’re seeing, but I can’t tell. It moves to slowly to be a rabbit. I almost wonder if it isn’t a weird shadow. I had to have walked through there when I set up the camera. Surely it would have scared off anything in the brush. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’ll try to look at it on my computer later and see if I can make it out.

@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Lucas: I just put it on my big monitor. It looks like it is a log. Good thing you pushed it out of the way. I will have to remember your idea of putting the bucket down when using the brush hog. Thanks for the info. Enjoy your weekend.

What type of trees do you have on your Homestead>

Most of the mature timber was harvested long before I bought the property, but we have oak, sycamore, beech, pine, maple, and walnut. I’m sure there are others, but I am not the best at identifying trees.
