30 is a milestone. When I was in my 20s, everything past 30 felt like it was a lifetime away, on the other side of that wall. Then I got past 30 and suddenly there was 60 waiting for me in the distance. Life felt much more transitory and I started looking back more. I started thinking about people I can't or don't see anymore, paths I should have taken but didn't (or paths I shouldn't have taken but did), and generally getting far more nostalgic. I never thought it'd happen this soon, but here I am a few months short of my 33rd birthday reminiscing about the good old days of the 90s and wishing I could go on one more family holiday to Blackpool with my ridiculously big family. TL;DR - relatable.

Shit... I'm in my 50s and if I let myself think about what's left... nope nope nope not doing it today! But yeah... thinking about retirement planning, and ... gasp... my end of life planning... then I get to thinking about my mum and dad and nope nope nope... I'm preparing to go to my parents house to celebrate one of my sisters turning 40 something...

My home is feeling only with my stuff. I feel like I'm only one in the family who values stuff from past decades and current. Everyone moved, everyone wanted to reduce clutter and everyone wanted minimal...except me. I felt like I'm still myself, but not them. They changed. Their original homes and home lives are all passed, and now their new lives are here to stay. My little apartment is the only thing that still feels like my childhood home with all the stuff migrated to the apartment. How life goes on.

I went onto google maps a couple of years ago, to look at my childhood home. I still remember the address. I looked at the house, and it is smaller than I remember. Also it’s a different color as well, so I think that’s weird 🫠. If I could go back knowing then what I know now, I would have made different choices. I’m going to be 45 this year and it sucks 😂
