Another great video Alina, enjoyable to take a walk around with you. I was lucky enough to visit Berat during my trip to Albania and I loved it as much as you do. When I headed up to the castle I thought I would find a few ruins and some kind of restored structure, I was amazed to see just how large the site is and that people still lived up there - which I thought was really cool. Berat is amazing😍yes, you are right, religious tollerance in Albania is the most beautiful thing. Every religious holiday is a national holiday and there are a lot of mixed families. They never identified the country with 1 religion, but with the language/culture. You can find many mosques and churches in the same garden✝️☪️☦❤🇦🇱
it should be the same throughout the world. afterall they are not different religions. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all the religions of the same God only different prophets i.e, Moses, Jesus and Mohamed. they all believe in one devine God, day of judgment, afterlife, prayer buildings(synagogue, church, mosque), prayers, adam n eve, holy books, angels n demons and the list is countless. then why do they all look and seem so different? u might ask u think if the God was the same, he would change the whole religion with every new prophet? its when the prophets die or get resurrected, the elders(rabbi, pastors, mullahs) distort the religion for their own advantage. its the same religion, the Religion of One God. just molded in different shapes by men in power

A little correction on the name. Berat is the ancient city of Partha (present day albanian Bardha so "white city"). The white castle has been the symbol of the city for centuries and the present name Berat basically just means 'white over black' so the white castle over the black hills. When the city was invaded by Bulgaria temporarily, the name Beligrad was used basically as a translation to slavic for their reference to white city because of the castle. They didn't name or rename the city, it was just a name for them to reference to. A present day example would be you going home to Canada and telling people you went to "the white city". You're not going to tell them you went to "qyteti i bardhe" which is the same exact name in the native language.

Elegant music (guitar and piano)! Makes it feel like the past is somehow a lost love .... That is a complex castle! Rock and stone is cold and dead, but your smile and excitement make it feel more alive - wouldn’t want to live there without real live flesh and bone humanity present, especially the feminine kind! I visualize men and women wearing the traditional medieval clothing and hair styles, walking about on the grounds and riding on horses (just be careful where you step). We could romanticize that time, but still it was a harder life - guess that is part of the curiosity. Thank you for being a beautiful person, Alina, for softening the view, so to say. Hope you had a romantic time in that city over the holidays, and best wishes for this new year! ❤️
