I’ve boated all my life and being on a sailboat was always been on my bucket list. I’m 77 now so don’t see that ever happening. I fly down to key west every spring to stay with my son and daughter-in-law and they do have day sailing charters. Maybe I can make it happen.

We were on anchor last year and had one his us on the Chesapeake, a local weather station clocked 75 mph out of it! The gust front was a telling sign that wind was coming! Keep up the good videos!!

An "Anvil" cloud forms at 40k+ feet when the higher velosity winds of the jet stream blow the top off the TRW. The "ringy" cloud is the outflow "Shelf" cloud formation from the TRW.
@hampelrutledge46243 ай бұрын
The circular cloud is a "Wall Cloud" It is formed because the rain is dragging wind down with it and it hits the water and flows outward in a gust front forming the cloud as it pushes out from the center. Lots of wind coming.

Hello Beau and Brandy, My name is Daniel Balderas from New Orleans, Louisiana. I saw y'all on other KZbin sailing channel's , like Gone with the Wynn's, Calico skies boat. So I decided to follow you guys. I am sending you a Weather warning, On the south west tip of Cuba and just north of Nicaragua and east of Yucatan peninsula. There is a tropical disturbance there, all weather reports are saying it can turn into a hurricane by the end of this month of September, So so y'all need to go towards the key West Islands or towards East to the Caribbean islands, . If you happen to go to Puerto Rico the couple that sailed their boat there which is GBU (The Good The bad and The ugly KZbin sailing Channel) . On this episode of your Channel, you haven't mentioned your accurate destination if I'm not sure where the steer you away from this Stormy weather. But y'all need to find a safe haven port to get out of this depression that's possibly going to turn into a cyclone / typhoon/ hurricane.

I think you are been overdramatic taking down your sails all the time. Yes wind drops down then yes motor sail. But you should have as much sail up as possible or just have a motor boat. The main sail will stabilise the boat and jib will power you along. It looks like your pole is to long most of the time your jib needs more bag into it down wind on the pole, move the pole Back on jib sheet and you dont need to roll up jib to take down the pole. And lightning will hit you with sails up or down if it’s going to happen. Better with sails up. I think you looking at digital information to much and panicking look out and see whats happing use electronic to help but a good sailer can tell whats happing by the feel of the weather you should feel the drop of pressure and the change of sea state. Learning to feel the ocean pattens and your boat will make sailing at night or when you resting/ sleeping will make your life better.
