"YOU CAN'T SIT ON THE STONE WALL" WE ARE CALLING THE COPS

This was on June 1st 2023, at the Charter street cemetery in Salem Massachusetts. I went to go sit on a wall facing part of the downtown area and sit under the trees. Within minutes I was approached by parks and recreation worker, telling me I could not sit on the wall because I had to stay on the path. I asked if it was public and she replied yes, she mentioned that there were graves whete I had my bike. So I decided to leave the cemetery area and go park in the public easement part of Derby Street.
I then climbed up the wall and sat back where I was sitting but not through the cemetery. Another worker approached me and told Me that I could not sit on the Stonewall and I told him that if he had a problem with it to call the police. The posted rules say not to leave the gravel path and both city employees told Mass Accountability that it is against the rules to sit on the wall. Having said that, has any one noticed that both city employees were off the gravel path leaning against the wall near the entrance. I just thought that was interesting.

“Rules” are neither ordinances nor laws. The latter are passed by city councils or legislators. They are also subject to judicial review. The former are just dreamed up and written down by individuals. The park employees could also write a “rule” prohibiting blacks from entering the park. What then? Are they going to call the police to enforce that unconstitutional “rule”? Two things are true here. The man was in public and not breaking any laws. If no laws are being broken, no laws need to be enforced and therefore law enforcement personnel are not needed. The park “karen” was guilty of misusing the emergency number for a non-emergency. She should have just minded her own business and left this man alone to enjoy his day in public, free from harassment.

I personally have a rule that says any public employee that falsely calls the police for a non crime pays me 5 million dollars directly. My family and I live in Maine and visit Salem once a year. I've never had anyone acost me for stepping off the paths in that cemetery when I did so to read tombstones. Unbelievable how power hungry some people get when given a little authority. As for long-haired guy...😂

In a cemetery that old there are probably graves under the path and the buildings. The grass is roughly cut there is no reason to keep people off it, the lawn mower goes over the unmarked graves, they are so old that they can't be harmed. This cemetery could be a public asset, a place where people can read books and have picnics, instead it is a short cut with public servants that want to control it. In 400 years I'd want people close to my resting place.
