Hello! I watched about 45 videos on this topic and yours is hands down the best one! Your hair looks great! I love it! I can't believe you pulled that off by yourself! That's painfully hard to do! I am so thankful for your videos, they have helped me. I am on the fence right now with attempting much the same thing. I think I would like to add a bit of an unnatural color ( just a hint) to my ashy bleach blonde (assuming I can achieve one) but I can not decide on one. I don't have the professional Olaplex either, so I am hoping that the non prof. version (Olaplex #0) will work as a substitute. Your hair looks beautiful , the color, the root melt, and your curls! @@UrManeAveTv Thank you! You’re the only one who doesn’t mislead viewers when it comes to Shades EQ. I hate seeing thumbnails with “tone your brassy hair with 09P” kinda thing. When you watch these videos, they almost always bleach the hair first. It’s not the Shades EQ but the bleach that made your hair platinum blonde. Who are they kidding?

You see before and afters of hair going from orange to platinum with just a toner listed in the description… or sometimes they just use a color for gray coverage as they’re bleaching highlights & then fail to mention that they toned it?! My hair is DARK dark & usually bleach twice with L 40. I know they say not to do that at home, but it’s not moving if I don’t use an L 40. I suck with the foils so that’s probably also holding me back on the lift action. I have great luck w/highlift color vs bleach w/lifting yellow vs orange in the 1st go. It’s never perfect at first but within a few washes it gels together nicely (I only do roots as ends are already blonde). I have enough toner in my arsenal to correct mishaps LOL

@@mulliganstew72 Oh how many times have I tried to correct orange highlights with a toner! I finally figured out just by leaving the bleach extra 5 minutes would get rid of the brass.

I suggest you bleach to an even tone before you apply an ashy toner...the orange pieces will not turn ashy..blue based toners will help eliminate the brass in the orange parts but turn the platinum parts blue..I suggest you go see a professional if thats too hard to accomplish

I’m a natural level three with hair lightens between 7 to 10 in various areas. Whenever I go to bleach it on my own as in not professionally why does my pre-lightened blonde hair turn orange? This is hair that’s previously been bleached down to an L 10. When I add my bleach +30 v peroxide I have orange results. Ronald McDonald orange. Anybody know why? I know I’m supposed to use foils for better lift & will practice! I free hand highlights & covering hair w/plastic bag. Get orange hair (even on pre-lifted level 10 pieces) as a result & Use 9B to counter it.

thanks for wats happening,, but you should not be over highlighting on previous level 10 hair..it going to weaken you r hair...

Level 10 does not have orange as an underlying pigment. The remaining pigment at L10 is yellow. Your hair will be yellow at a 10 and some form of red to orange between levels 3/4-6. If you insist on lightening your own hair do research on what your hair will look like at each level and use on level toning for best results. Also, Foil is used so the lightening powder does not dry out. When it starts drying it lose the ability to lighten hair.
