Olive reminds me of Tilly a lot! Tilly gets so huge that she seems to be carrying 4 babies but always only 2 are born. Olive looks like at least 4 but you only saw 3. I think there will only be 3. Still, she does look enormous. So glad you are back to regular posting as this is my happy place, LOL!

For your bucks a suggestion. To build muscle you can add boards across the pen they can jump. Used this for show sheep and it worked well.

I'm 51 now and have only ever tried or been offered beets one time in my life. I was a young teen, not a picky eater at all and I tried what was given to me and did not like them, they were sour/dill pickled. I like most if not all pickle flavors of pickled cucumbers with dill, and bread and butter styles being my favorites. I am guessing after seeing your recipe I would most probably like this recipe. It definitely sounds delicious!!!

For pickling beets you're supposed to leave a little lenght of stem and the other end so they won't "bleed" out, meaning they loose their nice red colour.. That way you can make the brine using water with the vinegar and sugar instead of beet juice and thus are able to pickle all your beets.

Growing up, Mom always made pickled beet (beet juice, vinegar and sugar) for Easter. She would add hard boiled eggs with the beets. So at Easter, we would eat the pickled beets and eggs. Definitely a treat.

Beetroot is a big deal here in Australia. We buy it canned. The best thing is to put a slice or two on a burger. Great taste. Sweet and juicy.

You guys inspired my niece and i to give a go to gardening and last sumemr our best crop was the zuchiini however we didn't realize HOW MANY zuchiini grow PER PLANT. we had... uh, 5-6 plants and they'd have 3-6 zuchiini PER PLANT at any random time we still got frozen zuchiini in our freezer XD, we also ended up giving a good amount to our neighbours- our ones next door took ALL the leaves from those plants, 2 clear-garbage bags full to bursting of them she was very happy~
