It's a silly point saying Darts is 'less of' a sport than anything else...Sport is a spectrum of physicality and skill, on one end there are extremely physical events like track and field and weight lifting, in the middle events like Football and Cricket- which require part physical, part skill-based, and then on the other sports like Golf, and Darts. Sport is not simply a matter of lesser or more in terms of physicality or else we would all say football is lesser than weightlifting or world strongest man...In the same way that is absurd, it is absurd to say Darts is lesser than anything else...Surprised I have to explain this to sports journalists 😂 Everyone is welcome to their opinion on a sport or sporting achievement, but it is just that an opinion. Personally I think Littlers achievements in Darts (and the spoils and adoration he has garnered) speak for themselves. Anyone can sit at home or in their car and diminish any sporting achievement saying things like 'he just threw the dart at a board', equally we can say 'he just hit a ball over a net'.

If it is a sport it is the sport with the least physicality possible (arguably the highest skill though). Sports classically and as a commerical product all tend to have physicality though (juxtaposed with e-sports that dont), including darts, chess doesn't is the difference. The whole thing of diet ,in darts not needed is wrong , Darts is a muscle memory sport, if a player were to gain weight or lose weight ,it can effect the throw massively, Darts are weighted, a difference of 1gram can mean the difference from going high or low ,so imagine a dart player who suddenly puts on body weight or loses excess body weight , The size of your arm can alter the way you throw,same with legs ,

But please, please do not start to compare him with the greats in darts... If in ten years from now he has won a few more world championships and fifty other majors, we could maybe start to think about calling him one of the greats in darts.. At this moment his a young kid with a lot of talent who won one world title....

Snooker is the hardest game in the world to play golf being second this has been proven darts 3 Call them GAMES all you like but they are harder then Football which is my first love MMA and combat sports some people can just fight naturally some people are totally trained I’ve boxed and done mma and I’ve played snooker against the best in the world and darts to a decent level snooker is harder then all im afraid by a long way! I love watching games like snooker and darts, I play both. They are games, requiring high skill levels, but not the same degree of physical fitness as a someone that plays a game of football at the top level. Big Bill Werbeniuk was a great snooker player, but if you suggest he competed as a 'sportsman' we have a very different opinion of what what is a competitive game, sport or pastime and what is not. Fishing... Should that be in the olympics next time around ?
