To be fair, a handful of you noticed. Either way, it sounds great and that's the important thing!

Just had some fun with your changes and the melody to “Autumn Leaves”. A few small adjustments and we think we’ll have a hit! 😅Always insightful, thank you.👍

It's breathtaking how much beauty comes out of a simple base12 number system when handled the right way and if nothing else, our race can be proud of discovering it during its history with the size of a rabbit's tail.

Since you're staying in one key, it's really base 7, not base 12.

If you are going from A to F it's the circle of fourths.

It always pains me when "Rock guys" use mainly power chords. Most of the best rock songs use more. E.g.: A lot of Led Zeppelin songs use 7th chords. Suspended chords are in many successful songs. Jimi Hendrix and Steely Dan used some very spicy chords like 9ths, 7#9, etc. If you mic the Amp correctly, chords with multiple notes sound great. But that requires doing a little more than just plopping down 4 power chords. And that's a shame. A perfect example is this chord progression. Mic the Amp correctly, so the notes sound balanced. (Note: most of the time, the guitars we hear are not balanced, in that they're more treble-y.) If you do that, then this chord progression can sound great with distortion, multiple FX pedals, etc., etc., etc.

Many rock guys simply can’t handle this much music theory because they are trying to sell records and get laid and harmony doesn’t help that happen. You aren’t a rock guy. That’s ok. I am not a jazz guy either.

@@Xplora213 , actually, I am a rock guy. :P And the '80s already proved that music theory is useful.

@@SamBrockmann I’m a death metal guy! The majority of rock music lacks the sonic space to utilise the extended chords. 5150s barely have enough space for a fifth and an octave in the frequency spectrum. Either way, I say do what you want. Don’t complain that others don’t use colours in paintings that you like, go and pick up a paint brush 🎨

@@Xplora213 , "The majority of rock music lacks the sonic space to utilise the extended chords" No, absolutely false. If the Shoegaze, Blackgaze, Deathgaze guys can manage to make extended chords work (and they absolutely do, some of them), then so can any distorted guitars with lots of effects. "5150s barely have enough space for a fifth and an octave in the frequency spectrum" Why are we still using 5150s in 2023? Hahahaha
@Xplora213 Жыл бұрын
@@SamBrockmann we are using 5150s because there have only been 3-4 new designs in amps. The Marshall is a tweaked bass man. You have a jc120, a recto… I use a stock 5150 patch, does it all but it’s thick as hell.
