Who is saying we should ignore grooming gangs from other ethnic groups, including those that are predominently white British? Who? Nobody, that who. This is the same sort of mealymouthed whataboutism and deflection that contributed to the environment that allowed this abuse to happen on an industrial scale. We should be able to examine this particular set of crimes without constantly having to make excuses or discuss other crimes. One issue with these particular gangs in question is that their victims were often picked based partly on racial and religious grounds, as well as their general vulnerability. Another issue is that members one community were heavily over represented as perpetrators in these particular crimes, per capita. The main issue is that members of that community, members of the police, local councils, and various services that should have spoken out and/or acted to protect the victims did NOTHING, or in many cases acted in ways that actually enabled the abusers to continue. This was often done for reasons of political correctness, and this has not been a contributing fact to the other types of grooming gangs. Thats why this particular type of gang based abuse must be discussed as a seperate entity. People constantly wanting to deflect, like Kieran, are part of the problem.
