I imagine it's some scam involving agencies and a way of paying under the minimum wage and degrading working conditions it took decades to build up. It usually is. None of these big companies and the government wants a fair deal for British workers. Their goal for the country is for everyone to live and work a hand to mouth existence competing against people from the poorest third world countries in the 'gig economy' - i.e. precarious, low skilled, low paid, de-unionised work.

I work here occasionally. The staff restaurant here is the biggest I’ve ever seen and has retro arcade games like street fighter etc. also instead of tills to pay for your food they use these unmanned machine that takes a picture of your food and works out what you have and how much. Very modern and hi technology setup. Think they are called “vision checkout”
