1 Peter 2:9 but you are a chosen people a possession that you made the clear the praises of him who called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light this passage is a key part of Peters exhortation to the early Christian community. Peter statement means that declaring God's greatness is one of the reasons for our existence then we praise him we fulfill our purpose. The statement is meant to remind Christians of the great work of Jesus on the cross it also shows that their own suffering can be used by God.
