They also keep really well. Just had some this morning that I reheated. And that unintentional atomic spice was still there :)

How did you reheat them?
@CookingWithRy6 жыл бұрын
On a plate in the microwave with a damp paper towel over them for 45 seconds :)

Brilliant, simply brilliant. You just opened up a whole new smoking genre that I never considered. I'm thinking broccoli, tomatoes, cabbage, egg plant, wow! I've grilled veggies before and they come out great, but low and slow? That's got to be fantastic! You sir are my hero. I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy.

Nice video, I usually put whole potato on coolest corner of smoker and let them go the whole time of meat I am smoking. I will have to try this way, looks great.
@CookingWithRy6 жыл бұрын
I do the same thing with potatoes on the smoker :)

I don’t fry foods any more, or at least very rarely. Making my potato logs is a go to staple in my home. Another great video Ry.

Not to mention the great smoke flavor :)

Cooking With Ry hey, Ry this one was an early one of mine, a video I did not too long after starting my channel, a while back. If you find time check it out, please. However, if you have a problem with people posting links to their own videos on your channel feel free to delete it. I just wanted to show you how I do these a lot. I've had smoker cooked baked potatoes before but this sounds awesome. (I have to BBQ vicariously... as I dwell in a small NYC apartment.)

Hard to fire up the smoker there, I hear ya :)
@akinyelereynolds38306 жыл бұрын
So I have done these before. I find it easier if you par cook the sweet potatoes first and it cuts down the cook time..but you still rock dude

Thanks :)

These looks so good bro. This is an awesome idea. I'm going to try this on our next camping trip. I would have thought that the sweet potatoes would have taken longer. But I've never smoked either one.
@CookingWithRy6 жыл бұрын
I was surprised that the sweet potatoes were done first, too. But man were they good :)

Nice one Ry ! .. enjoy seeing you use the electric smoker especially the charbroil one because I have been eyeing the same one. is it possible to cook these taters and a slab of meat at the same time?..
@CookingWithRy6 жыл бұрын
Sure. Just have to time them right. I'd make sure the taters were above the meat :)

I can't say for sure, but the sweet potatoes look like "Haymans" grown on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and coastal North Carolina. The flesh looked like a yellowish-tan on the video; much lighter than the normal orange-ish red of yams.
@CookingWithRy6 жыл бұрын
Yeah it was a sort of tan color flesh. Very unlike yams.
