He's also extremely arrogant, and because he's mostly self-taught he's filled with idiosyncrasies and lacks proper academic review, which is par for the course given that he has no formal education in any of the fields he requires a knowledge base on. Generally, his theory of information-cognition is just rebranded Hindu panpsychism, but wrapped in needless word salad and misused technical terms. It's not the God of monotheism. It also requires essentially defining God into existence, which is probably due to Langan's arrogance, which has repeatedly shown to be his greatest blindspot.

I'll add that since not everyone in the world has even taken an IQ test, we don't know who currently living would have the highest IQ. IQ tests as AlbertaGeeks says, only measure how good you are at taking IQ tests, and since IQ tests were developed in western culture, if you didn't also grown up in that culture you won't score as highly as you otherwise might. It's an appeal to authority, and a fallacy. I've seen a few attempts by Christians at proving biblical claims mathematically, and they always fail abysmally.

If a god were to exist "nature" would be god + Everything Else. If we are in a simulated universe (cannot be ruled out by physics) then Reality is Our Creator's Universe + all that "he" created. And he will adjust the simulation if "he" is asked just right. Our reality could be the product of a civilization so advanced that teenagers design worlds and may play in god-mode. Each of our personal realities could be what it feels like to be an AI NPC. Nevertheless, even if our universe is created, the universe in which the creator resides stands in equal need of explanation. Let us suppose there is an infinite stack of gods. Whence that stack. Something -- reality -- with or without gods -- just is. If reality is an oscillating situation of mutual causation, whence the pair. Absolute nothing is apparently unstable -- nature abhors nothingness. There is no time for anything to happen. No space for it to happen in. No energy. No light. No matter. Then spacetime and energy. Mother Nature took charge -- blind, deaf, silent and uncaring -- with one commandment: my way.

@Nic B To be fair, my hypnosis of a being of higher intelligent is: If there is a being of infinite wisdom/power, we would never know because he is infinite. AND with that, all known religions would be false cause they say they "Understand" god, but you cannot understand infinity or any fraction of it. It is infinite and we are finite. @Language and Programming Channel okay honey. now just try to use that superior rational brain of yours to contradict your own reasoning. because many, many people could do that, but it won't have any practical consequences unless you do it yourself. you just won't get it. that's not to say atheists are wrong. that's to say your reasoning is 101 level, there's so much more that i don't feel like even starting actual discussion with you, too far apart. one thing that an intellectually honest person needs to do at some point is ask around for a person that has the biggest chance of proving them wrong and then hearing that person out. it's sane, it's honest, it's intellectual in it's essence. so try finding some theologians and read their books and see if you get it and if it shows you concepts that you don't have to accept, but that you did not think of and can now think about refuting. rather than feeling content about yourself because you came up with this thing there - "if God existed he would have done as I believe I would have in his position".
@KaiHenningsen4 жыл бұрын
@@kshinji It's fairly simple, but maybe it's too complicated for you. If we're talking about the Christian god (and we are), he is usually defined to have a number of characteristics. So that specific god, at least, cannot possibly exist, nor any other with a set of characteristics that are incompatible with the world we see around us. Some of the more critical assertions are the all- or omni-whatever ones. Combine enough of these (two or three are usually enough), and you run into unsolvable problems. For example, consider the problem of evil. Aside from being remarkably adept at self-contradiction and presenting special-pleading fallacies, this person seems to be rather too fond of asking malformed questions. "Of all the knowledge in the universe, how much of it don't you know?" is obviously impossible to answer logically, since logically, one cannot know everything one does not know. It is therefore _impossible_ to make such a calculation. As a former fundy god-botherer, I'd hear a talk like this in church and think "Yeah, great point, Pastor- That makes sense to me" (amidst the general murmuring agreement of the congregation), then I'd go home and think about it and realise it made absolutely no sense at all. Then I'd feel guilty and ashamed for the doubts that would creep in, as though it were somehow my fault the Pastor's points were actually nothing more than incoherent, irrational bullshit when examined logically and systematically outside of the congregational 'groupthink' environment.

So many constradicting Gods/ beings / SIMS users / intelligent designers (etc.) concepts... All getting subjectively justified by believers, using the same error-prone methodological processes as a standard, which unreliably (and damn easily) even allows for the acceptance of multiple contradicting concepts of reality as being justifies to be true nonetheless. Well, that's way too much of a dissonance for me to swallow... Thank God I'm an atheist.

I was just shunned by friends and family when I left religion. Which is also an issue I am sure you will have to face. I would suggest a couple of things. You're going to need to focus on your own mental health first and foremost. It is a huge change and you will feel a lone and almost abandoned while realizing your whole world view is not the same. The second is to look at the new life as a brand new opportunity to make the life you truly want. Another big one I found is that the reason I was ministering was because I wanted to help people. So finding a good charity or something that will help you retain that sense of community and helping. It is an interesting transition but there are several others who have passed through the fire!

@MindCreatedAll nice loaded words you have there. "creator"(implying there is one), "creation"(also the same), "who"ever(no need to repeat myself). pretty sure pulmonary is included within respiratory. also, body is not used interchangeably with skin. obviously they coexist, but that does not add anything to your assertions. you know what symmetry or order means? did you know those words are used in very specific context? do we know what we call when a person uses those words in a more general context? yes, vague. because as far as I know symmetry and order could mean anything here. symmetry of shapes? of specific arrangements? which? if so, do those have biochemical properties aiding them by any means. I suggest you try doing that. after that, more loaded words trying to inject your conclusion at any cost. even an attemp at a primitive cosmological argument?! that has the same problem as the usual ones. firstly assuming you know things are finite and had a beginning(I wonder what that is for? :0). oh, yeah. to imply there is a necessity for things that had a beginning to have a cause, right? so that you could shift the problem(things necessarily having a beginning and needing a cause) to the .. cause itself? but you then, probably copying those apologetic arguments, insert the word "infinite" in there as if there is nothing wrong. but wait?! the whole problem was that we could not make all things be infinite in the first place, otherwise, no need to insert a cause, right? those should be enough reason for rejecting unsound arguments that appeal to cosmology. btw. just to show(again) you know nothing you are talking about. the word in caps, exponential, describes general behaviour of data(or rather, describes a class of functions), not a single comparison between quantities. it does not make sense say one quantity, alone, is exponential when relating to other, because that is the behaviour of a function, at most, a trend of growth, being that the growth is proportional to the current value of whatever you are evaluating. anywa, think twice before writing these things.

@MindCreatedAll I'd love to know your sources on how you got this insider information on how the human body (and everything else) was created. Considering how fallible the bible is in this sense you must naturally have some other form of evidence describing all this in detail, and naturally you would have no issues explaining how and where you got your information. Assuming of course that you were able to find any evidence outside of what is described in the bible, because I'm sure that as intelligent human beings you and I can both agree that any "objective fact" that comes from that book would be laughable.
