My beef with the flood thing is with it being completely contrary to the presented idea of God as an all-knowing, all-powerful, loving and forgiving being. It was vengeance, intermperance, anger and pettiness to an "amazing" level. God needed therapy, especially anger management. Why destroy every living thing on earth when it was only humans that "sinned" against him? He couldn't direct the punishment toward just the actual human culprits in a manner that corrected their behavior? Not very all-powerful if you ask me.

Starting at 13:00 that group of false cats with with odd lower jawbones extending down to the tips of the gigantic fangs is so odd looking to me, I can't imagine how that was required for survival to become a primary trait, or for that matter, how it was functional. Granted, I've never studied biology past the basics let alone biomechanics.

It wasn't til about 2016 that I realized just how many people believe this story really happened. I didn't take it literally when I was a kid at Sunday school, I took it as just another story like King Solomon's Mines or Moby Dick.

Exodus 19 ( the whole chapter ) clearly shows that the biblical god is a volcano. Well magma specifically. The ancients were volcano worshippers. I have far more evidence of this but it’s too much to go into here.

From his words, he's one of those that believes you're not really an atheist, but just hate the idea of God. And that's such a silly notion. Sure, it's not possible to 100% prove to another person you don't believe in something. But, even if a God exists, and Aron secretly believes one does, it should be pretty clear that he rejects what the Bible has to say on that God. If so, how could you blame God for the evil in the universe? You've got no foundation to know anything about em. I'm not convinced a God exists. But if one does, and I don't base myself on the claims Christianity makes about this force, I could imagine all sorts of reasons why Evil could exists. He could not be all-powerful. Even the Bible doesn't depict an entity that can do anything instantly at all times. Even Satan seems to give him some trouble, and that's just an Angel. He is also not depicted as all-knowing. Or maybe his influence on Creation is limited, because his will is what shaped it, but now there are those of free will that are no longer aligned with him. And he can only act, to the degree people align their will to the will of God. Certainly would explain why belief is desirable for a God. And why his actions seem to lessen and become less impressive over time. And why only those that align their souls to him fully are allowed into his domain, and the others can't be, without diminishing his power there too. With Sin, choosing to act against his will, actually doing harm to God and his Creation. Or maybe he isn't a Personal God, but one that cares not so much for people, but for humanity. And knows the trials they must pass through, for the things they will accomplish thousands, even millions of years for now, as they overcome the dangers within creation, and within themselves. Or maybe Satan is indeed a legitimate rival that somehow grown powerful enough to counter God. It can't even be proven it was truly God that inspired the Bible, after all. Jesus wrote nothing down. Who would one prove the Bible isn't a trap forged by Satan? It's clear as day, that those of evil hearts successfully use it to enrich themselves, to limit freedom, to divide people, and to shroud themselves from the consequences of evil actions. Point is, the existence of Evil does nothing to disprove a God. Nor justifies hatred of all versions of God that may exist. The existence of Evil makes a good case against versions of God that Christian Tradition preaches for the existence of. But to hate that God, one would have to assume that what they preach is the truth. And while there may be some that reach that conclusion, far more are there that simply conclude that what they preach is inaccurate. Or that the Bible itself is not divinely sourced whatsoever, and thus proof for nothing. But then... Even the writer of the e-mail acknowledged you can't prove or disprove a God. So maybe he isn't that far off from the path of accepting there's no real evidence either way.

Two hookers go into a bar to harass the drunks therein. One goes up to a patron at the bar and declares, "I have an iiiiitchy puuuusssy!" He drawls over his beer, "Well, lady, I'm sorry, but I don't know nothin' 'bout them foreign cars." Meanwhile, the other is going around to the drunks, lifting her skirt, shouting, "Suuuup-er Pussy!" "Suuuuup-er Pussy!" "Suuuuup-er Pussy!" The drunk half asleep in the corner wakes up a little bit, and responds, "I'll have the soup!"

I was asked recently why I left Christianity and became atheist. I answered "it wasn't all at once and was a journey. We don't really have the time to fully explain it". When I do get into a discussion; I always credit you, Christopher Hitchens, Carl Sagan, Dr. Bart Ehrman, and lots of quoting from the Bible itself.

Your comment about cable news changing narratives reminds me of this one woman's bizarre story. Her name was Marion Stokes and when she died they found TVs recording every news channel 24/7 which she'd been doing for 30 years, so her house was filled with tens of thousands of VHS tapes. Her collection became a super important archive of decades worth of TV programs that would have been lost to time otherwise. The relevant part was the reason she started doing it. She noticed several times that the news would change a story and pretend their old reporting never happened, the first time was during the Iranian hostage crisis in '79. So she started recording all news from all channels for decades to prove she wasn't misremembering; that the news did lie to and gaslight the public.

It's ironic how much emphasis Aron places on the values of human rights, freedom of choice, democracy, and freedom of speech, when this election was a win for all of those values. Humans exercised their right to vote for the candidate they chose to be the president in a democratic fashion, and many were influenced to do so by others utilizing their freedom of speech to spread their message. Also funny when people on the left complain about the right "enforcing their morality" when the left does the exact same thing. Everyone wants the greater society they live in to conform to their moral standard.

Not to be pedantic, but Ben Hur didn't have a chariot with wheel spikes... his former friend turned enemy Masala did. (which, apparently, wouldn't work anyway, since the chariots can't draw close enough due to the width of the four horses pulling them.)

Christianity's biggest mistake was making their God infallible and tri-omni. Their own damn book contradicts this belief, to the point I'm not even sure why Christians believe their God is infallible, omnipresent, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent. Gods, demigods, and god-like beings in other mythologies are much more relatable and believable.
