“Industry” is Utah’s motto. It “became the official state motto on 4 March 1959 when Governor George Dewey Clyde signed House Bill Number 35. The word is associated with the symbol of the beehive. The early pioneers had few material resources at their disposal and therefore had to rely on their own "industry" to survive”. This is from Utah learning something or other.

We stayed at that same KOA in West Wendover several years ago on our way to Nebraska. This was in May, the beginning of high peak season and yes, it was HOT. Miserably HOT! From the looks of it, that place hasn't changed a bit.

@@BeanCruisers KOAs are like any other RV park, there are good ones and not-so-good ones but it mainly depends on the location for us and what else is in the area. The main reason we would stay in KOA is if there was nothing else around and if the price was reasonable.

The two of you are amazing. Thanks so much for the shout out. I remember that phone call when you were in Bear Lake area. Trying to figure out if there were any other options. It looks like I'm going to have to do some expansion of my boondocking resources so that I can be your phone a friend again 🙂 by the way, that is the weirdest campsite setup. I have seen with the curb being so close to the RV that you had to put your steps on it. I guarantee I would have fallen numerous times coming down for getting about how big that last step was. - Kyle and Michelle

I love Bear Lake. Somewhere I’ve visited for many, many years. The weekend you were at Bear Lake would be the weekend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has General Conference so members can watch church on TV/internet so members can watch from anywhere, which is why many would be camping on that end of September/ first of October weekend.

@@BrokenDreamsReborn it’s even busier in the summer I’m certain. People park along side the road (or if water is low enough, out on the sand) to get to the lake to swim. My mom’s cousins own a property on the south shore so we always go there.

For the issue of the stairs and that drop off, I have an extra folding step that I take with me for when there is a situation like this. But that looks dangerous. Knuckle dragging half whit! (I love the term) Matthew, you are a seasoned RV'er, but you should come up with a better stacking/packing ritual . I am glad you stopped at the West Wendover KOA, I am thinking about going here on my journey next year. That is weird to have gravel tent sites with H2O and Electric. What are your final thoughts for this KOA?

We had to be very careful going down those steps at that campsite! 😱Matthew has such a way with words, LOL 😂 We agree about having more organization in our storage bay, just need to make time to do it. This KOA is big rig friendly, the price is decent for what RV parks go for now days and it is in a good location and all the hookups worked well. The sites were a little unlevel but we managed. Overall, we would come back to this KOA. Thanks for watching! ~ Shion and Matthew

If this RV park is so empty, and this site is dangerous with the stairs and how you backed into the site, then why didn't you go back to the office and ask for another site and move the RV where you're safer? Same with the hook up that Matthews complaining about. You haven't done enough that you can't just move the RV to a better location. Walk around to other sites, see which one is best, has good hookups a good location for your stairs nice views etc. and then move. You seem to be paying a lot of money for the night in an empty Park when you have the option of locations i would think.
