Between DM Lair and you posting on TTRPG solo play, I now wonder if there's a trend or a GM crisis going on right now 😆 Happy you're back, and excited to see the video.

Solo play… so hot right now

@@hectorvivis3651 more than there ever has been. The more people are playing RPGs, the fewer GMs to share among them.

I enjoyed this a lot. I have played a lot of Ironsworn, Starforged, and a bit of Sundered Isles, they are all great imo and easy to learn as you play

Glad you enjoyed it! I’ll keep up the series!

It is great to see that a fellow KZbinr also became a Solo RPG player! 😃

This was fun! Also enjoyed Uther's interruptions.

That was really cool :) I love how this is your first solo experience and you just dive headlong into it. This is the way! That went really smoothly for your first solo foray, you were nice and open to interpretations and went with the flow of your expectations. I hope you do more solo videos in the future :)

Thanks! I probably will!

Hey this was awesome! Would love to see the story continue. I am a relatively new-ish GM and I have a small group, but sessions can be few and far between. Solo has been insanely helpful with developing my improv and creative skills. It's also super fun to create a story on my own, it feels like playing Skyrim but with quests that are truly emergent. I'm now starting to run my group games low/no prep and I feel more confident in my abilities as well. Instant watch for me. Glad you're back, this has always been one of my all time favorite RPG channels!

I'm printing this comment and framing it on my wall😂 Playing Skyrim with quests that are truly emergent is a great way of describing it!

I need more of this because I can’t find other humans in real life to play

Playing solo is almost more fun if you like getting immersed in a fantasy world

I would hate to have to riff my story on "weather" versus having to riff on a random scene from a random popular movie

You ever try the Solo DW book off of DTRPG?

@@tabletopbro I mean, I watched five or so minutes of it, yes. Anyway, that book has some pretty cool oracles in it that work in interesting ways.

Honestly Ironsworn is very similar to Dungeon World. Big difference is DW has better combat. IS has easier solo setup.

I've been playing various solo games for a year now, and I have to guiltily admit that, in a lot of ways, I prefer it over traditional group play 😅. I hate to say it, but a lot of people in the broad hobby just don't want to learn new systems or even gain a passable grasp of the rules of the system they *do* want to play. And as both a GM and player, that just becomes exhausting to deal with after a while. With solo play, you don't have to deal with any of that.

Group play is fun for me cause I get to hang out with my friends. If I wanna actually dive deep, I think I prefer solo play tbh
