“Hermes in the Making”: Korea’s first pop-up store exhibition video
Hello, this is Yongmi Workshop.
Today, we prepared a video for Hermes’ first large-scale pop-up store exhibition in Korea, “Hermes in the Making.”
This exhibition was all the more meaningful because it was a special opportunity to meet Hermes artisans in person.
I entered the exhibition with the expectation of learning their know-how.
The exhibition hall had experience booths and booths where artisans worked. Key highlights include:
Saddle making: Demonstrates Hermès' skill in combining traditional craftsmanship with the requirements of modern sports.
Leather products: Introducing Hermes' 22nd leather workshop and its signature saddle stitch technique.
Jewelry making: Hermès jewelery artisans demonstrate precise work using recycled gold and silver.
Silk printing: You can experience the Lyon method silk screen printing process.
Glove making: Introducing the glove making process, which is completed through a 22-step process.
Watchmaking: You can see the process of Hermès master watchmakers assembling mechanical movements.
Porcelain Painting: Demonstrates the art of drawing designs on various porcelain products.
Repair and Restoration: Introducing Hermes’ skilled craftsmen repairing and restoring bags, belts, etc.
I really lost track of time while looking around the exhibition. It was so fun that I made this video because I wanted to show it to you all.
