Absolutely brilliant. So agree with all of that. I'm in my 70s, female and long retired, yet at times I behave like I'm still trying to achieve some sort of promotion in life. I'm pretty minimalist, but my other half is not ( that's hard!), and I try to live a simple life, but a part of me is always trying to achieve something......what I ask in my old age. Super subject matter, and very useful. I am going to embrace doing nothing.

The world pushes this “hustle and you’ll achieve your dreams” culture. It’s not about money… I don’t think a lot of our world understands that. Living simply is where it’s at. Great video and 💪 to see ou blowing up!

This is a breath of fresh air. Im a big fan of productivity and personal growth. And although I do think it can be valuable, like you said, it's equally valuable to find rest and contentment to balance out the ambition.

I have found out that being content is the most amazing trait you can have. You're not much looking for external validation which makes you miserable. I have become more content and I try to live in the present moment and I am grateful for every single thing in my life.

Thank you for sharing these personal insights with us. I really needed to hear, that I'm not alone in feeling like this 🙏 I struggle with anxiety and depression, and it's a battle to constantly overcome these things, while others think I'm just being lazy and doing nothing with my life. Everyday is an uphill battle, but I keep going. But sometimes, it's really helpful to hear, that others also find the rush to become "better" exhausting. I love your channel, would like to see more content like this as well. Love from Denmark ❤️

Hi Nicholas. This video was very humbling. I am with you on that same boat, where those around my age (25) or even younger have this insane net income or own a home already & I feel like I'm not anywhere near there. My student debt is taking a toll on me, on top of every other significant expense (rent, PGE, water service, etc.). It's very demotivating. :/ Minimalism goes a long way & I think you're doing great. Especially being aware that these distractions are not to be compared to our own lives. Social media / society has a bad way of degrading our personal path. Thank you for sharing your opinions & feelings. You're so not alone. 🖤

As I can feel I'm heading towards a burnout right now, these are very much needed tips! 🙌 I have been grinding 7 days a week for a while, as I'm "frontloading" work before an upcoming extended trip, and I feel like I have to take every opportunity to get something done... But yesterday I felt like it's just been too much. I started with taking off today from doing anything "productive" and catching up with KZbin videos, I'm so glad I did 🙂 Always great to see some cat appearances in your videos (WE WANT MORE 🐱) Also, growing your hair out really suits you!

Thanks Nicholas. I’ve been mulling this over for a while too. Try to improve to impress others when they are not bothered. My routine became longer than my work to do list. Just being ok with being ok and not burning out with trying to constantly better oneself.

Appreciate the Yugioh reference. With that being said, thanks for the reminder. This is always my number one problem whenever I just had nothing to do, I just go to a bottomless pit of thinking how unproductive I am by doing nothing. But because of that, without knowing, I can write poems again which I can't di before due to busyness.

What's interesting is that we compare ourselves to others who are "successful", but what does success mean? I think we don't realize that success is subjective. To some it's fame, but if there are infamous people...are they successful?

im 58, lived 25 years in th US, now im back to my native Brazil, leaned to become a minimalist, have only a surfboard, a cruiser skateboard and a very functional small drum practice kit and never been happier in my life, laughing at all the idiots out there worshiping females and social media and netflix and other 'marvels' of a destructive modern world; my goal is to learn self protection and survival in the woods where i inteend to live, because in a few years, society will colapse and modern cities will become umberable

Same hereeeee. Ive been struggling and stressing myself about how some parts of my life isn’t improving yet. I always got caught up into it even tho I dont need to be because clearly everyday even tho I don’t see it I am improving already the fact that I am thinking about it is an improvement itself. And also living slow and just taking your time sometimes really helps and sometimes it also helps you to find the answers you needed. 🙂↕️🫶
