This video is awesome. It's everything great about the city. It's a wonderful tourism ad that makes me want to move to downtown Cleveland in a heartbeat... and when I have kids, where will they go? Not Cleveland Public. Fix the schools and you'll fix the migration problem.

First class production, first class city, and first class people make it a destination for raising a family or living downtown. LIfe is about participation and community, well done

I've worked downtown on & off for the past 18yrs and this video truly shows the recent vibe in the city. There are a TON of recently completed and/or new construction projects going on (residential condos/apt, commercial high rise offices & hotels, new pedestrian bridge planned to the lake, east bank revival with Boardwalk and restaurants, public square complete make-over with more green space, etc.) Summers and fall are great...so much to do (Indians games, concerts, Browns football, Cavs, theaters/plays, casino, etc). It's a very walkable city. Can walk from one end to the other in 15-20 min or hop on a trolley on Euclid ave. Anyone who is hating on the city right now clearly isn't getting down there much. Changes made at University circle, playhouse square theaters, The new Heinen's in the old Ameritrust rotunda, metro at the 9, Vault Nightclub, E. 4th, The new convention center, great museums, world class chefs and restaurants...on and on. The investment going on into this city is like none I have seen having grown up here. Cleveland is a hidden gem. Our winters just suck but hey, you'll get that in New York or Chicago too!

If there is one thing I can say for the people here. and I mean the common people not the Police ect. That is we are very open to all race and rights for them. It is a great place for couples who want to start a family. With LeBron the global icon settled here you can expect to see Cleveland Grow once again. Soon this will be the place to be.

I know we have 3 major sports venues, but what about the minor ones like, Monsters Hockey, and Cleveland Gladiators Stadium football. They did pretty well last season. And where the hell is the West Side Market in this? Most of the beauty happens over in University Circle, The West Side Market, or Ohio city. Anyway, being a citizen of Cle+ I find that our city is expanding in economic values, and we are gaining our reputation back from the mistake on the like some 50 odd years ago, which stuck around forever. We are no longer the Mistake on the lake. The Cleveland renaissance is underway with Billions of dollars in Improvements, and the moral of the people, including the bringing of the NRC (National Republic Convention) to our very own recently built convention center, restored buildings that were not suitable for life, new talents on our sports teams, Improved transportation systems using the rapids RTA and recent highway projects that are coming together quite nicely and faster than expected, and recently a new announced mid-rise building that will take place behind the Q, and improvements on old parking lots and parking garages for major events, Even having the world famous Chef Boyardee, John D. Rockefeller, Alan Freed (The man who first used the term "Rock and Roll"), and "The King", LeBron James. (Actually he's from Akron, but atleast he plays for the avs once more)

So we contract with some OUT OF TOWN ad agency, for beau coup bucks, to come up with a forgettable video showing yuppie/hipster hybrids frolicking in slow motion. How sadly typical. As if we couldn't have come up with such mediocre tripe ourselves. Show some old Ghoulardi footage instead. Now THATS Cleveland!
@BEEZERWAX3410 жыл бұрын
This really makes Cleveland look awesome...Which is easy to do when you erase the crime, places like "rape alley", the homeless people, the panhandlers outside of events, and the awful school system!
@adzisme9 жыл бұрын
Noticed they didn't include the gauntlet of homeless you had to navigate after every home game at Progressive Field..or the number of people sleeping outdoors near all those cool downtown haunts...those of us who visited Cleveland on a regular basis grew tired of that in a hurry...

This gets me more and more excited to finally work and live in downtown Cleveland. My cousin works there and she loves it. It makes me proud to see a city i have loved since i was a little grow into something great. Every city has work that needs to be done. Yes, not everything is perfect in Cleveland. There is homelessness and dangerous sides of it, but this video was to show the growth of the city we all can hope for it to be. This is the PR stunt to help show the good sides because everyone focuses so much on the bad that we forget there is some good. I know this city will do better and they are working hard to help. Just enjoy the growth of a city that deserves so much than what it is getting. A great town, with great people, and i couldn't be more happy to say I am a Cleveland girl. Cleveland till I die

We moved to Cleveland over 20 years ago, and the city itself was not doing well, but the changes and excitement in recent years have been amazing. We go downtown more and more, and I can imagine moving there (unthinkable 20 years ago).

Jeff Rickel I live in Akron (which is no better), and visit Cleveland quite a bit. There are some cool places and things to do, but everything is very scattered and segmentented. This video gives the idea that its an all encompassing hip place to be at all times, its quite deceiving.
@marissa85209 жыл бұрын
Okay so I know that they badly want all of these upper middle class white hipsters to move here and spend their money...but...when I think of the city I don't generally picture slim white people in their 20's doing yoga and ballet... Why can't you promote Cleveland and celebrate what its REALLY like at the same time?

How about taking a tour and record the hood side of Cleveland. East & West, and this video doesn't even make me want to stay in Cleveland.
@JCle-dr8uk9 жыл бұрын
Because we all know hoods don't exist in great cities like New York, LA, Chicago, London, etc...
@AnthonyDunlap9 жыл бұрын
J. Cle but how many people do you know actually know, do the shit in this video? Growing up in the hood, I don't know anyone that does these things.
@pbarre359 жыл бұрын
You're missing the point. How many people from the hood ANYWHERE participate in outdoor yoga or go to plays or Starbucks? They're trying to stimulate the economy by inviting young professionals to come and spend their money to enjoy that big metropolitan image that Cleveland is trying to build, not trying to expand the Cleveland hood. That's actually the exact image that Cleveland is working hard to get rid of. Nothing wrong with being proud of your roots, but a major part of being from the hood is being broke, which does the city no good to have a bunch of broke people hanging around and not spending money. One of the main reasons businesses in the hood don't usually succeed in the long term either. Plus it creates a major safety concern because broke people are more likely to do desperate things. To sum it up, people from the hood are not the intended demographic of this ad.

Cleveland wouldn't be on the map if it wasn't for the mighty Cleveland Clinic. So if you are in health care, come on down! To be fair, it is a nice place in the summer IF you don't have allergies. And if you don't mind not seeing the sun for six months out of the year either (Nov to April)....Also this video doesn't mention east Cleveland, Parma
@brittharmon55759 жыл бұрын
Have you ever been there? Parma is not on the East side, and it is not the Ghetto. Google Parma on the map.

Where is Cleveland PD in this? Of course this shows Cleveland at its best. It doesn't show the dingy parts, the shut down factories, the bad neighborhoods, and the pollution. What out tourists, behind the prim and proper front is a crime ridden, dingy city.

Nicely funded and filmed. Filled with the prettiest Hunger Games side of the fence trust funders and blue bloods. Lovely video, but not offering the Cleveland gestalt. Cleveland certainly has better cultural offerings than Toledo (The 2nd most miserable city in the US) The Hastily Made Cleveland Tourism Video made me chuckle and led me to this utopian delusion.
