As a retired pro, what he's trying franticly, to get accross, and to sum it up, in short, is the reason their are 6-10 pnd bass to still be caught, is they (had), a resting place, a refuge if you will. Thats how the fishery's, were maintained, and kept the sport with breeder fish!!! Now, their is no resting place,which (WILL), decimate (all) of these fisheries!! Iv'e been fishing, and competivly, for over 50 yrs, and iv'e more than earned the experiance, to know, ecactly what i'm talking about, as well as randy, and fellas, he is right, and he means nothing but well, and looking out for people, thats not looking out!! Well, said…. It’s great to hear a pro support what Randy is saying. The problem at this point (like every other issue in this country today) is that you hardly need to be a pro to understand what this is going to do to our fisheries if something isn’t done soon. Knowing how FFS works is all the info you need to know. When we bought our boat roughly 5yrs ago, the salesman tried to sell this to us. I had NO idea what it was. When he explained it to me, I looked at him like he had two heads. First off, that didn’t sound even REMOTELY fun, or gratifying. Second, I thought it the tech was marketed towards amateurs, and weekend warriors because they DON’T have the knowledge of a pro. At that point in time, i had NO idea pro’s were using it. When I learned that, I was dumbfounded. Not just because they’re so-called pro’s, but because you’d think their level of self-respect, and desire to maintain their credibility, in-and-of itself would keep them from using. For the same reasons you don’t see professional bowlers using bumper-guards. Only now, these pro’s are defending it with their life, because they dependence on it is BONE-DEEP (which, IMO, means they’re anything BUT a pro). And, the destructive aspect of it is two fold….1). The number of tournaments today is nauseating. It’s absolutely off the charts how many tournaments there are now, and ALL of them are using FFS. 2). For every pro using FFS, there’s a “wannabe” who’s using it because they see pro’s winning tournaments with it (see #1). Scott Martin just gave a clinic on Okeechobee proving every single word you just said. He spent “45min starring at his Panoptix” on a bedding fish that he NEVER would of caught without it. *At some point, these shameless, co-dependents are going to have to realize, that you can’t catch a fish that isn’t there…..I don’t care WHAT electronics they have on the boat. But, the reality, again, just like every other issue destroying America today, when those fisheries are finally all but destroyed, they’ll blame everyone, and everything, but FFS.* Being a shameless, co-dependent, hypocritical, entitled, stupid, professional-victim isn’t illegal (unfortunately), till then all we can do is pressure the living sh!t out of these companies/tournaments to ban FFS. It has NO business in our sport.

Try to make a SINGLE video without degrading fisherman who choose to use the tools available to them. You made a video recently where you stated you weren’t trying to cause division, yet in this video, you essentially stated that if you use FFS you’re not a “real” bass fisherman. The division grows.

Definitely about water clarity. I can’t get a bite using one. I’ve tried all colors. But the lake I fish is very clear, typically at least 6 ft or more visibility.

I gave up on chatterbait when it came out - until I was turned on to the right colors. I tried white, white/blue etc. - to imitate shad. Then I started using green pumpkin and bluegill colors.... I've caught 4's, 5,s, 6's, 7's, and my biggest, a 9+ farm pond giant on the bluegill color with a big swimbait trailer. I'm a believer now. I still love slow rolling my big homemade spinnerbaits on the lakes in early spring though.

@@jeremyduncan9165you have any issues with the mini-maxs not vibrating right? The one mini-max I have, I cannot get it to vibrate right. I have tinkered with the blade and it just won’t work correctly. I even swapped out the clip to one like is on the Original Chatterbait and still no change.

The blade is a thinner gauge metal but the only advantage I notice is that the jackhammer seems to start ticking just a little quicker when you begin your retrieve. However, I feel like if I let it sink to the bottom, the evo or even the OG, and I do a decently aggressive jerk off the bottom to like get the blade wagging then I can like jump start it and keep it going with a slower retrieve.

IT's all about what the fish see best in those conditions- we have 1' to 3' visibility range in most of the local lakes here. It limits color a lot to just the basics

Great info, Randy. I've found that i do better with the green pumpkin chatterbait when i use a while or chartreuse trailer. I think it resembles the white belly of some bait fish. Maybe it makes it more visible due to water clarity or light intensity.
