you think the dog is stressed? ofcourse he is, he's a bad ass dog that just wants to bite, but the handler has to be able to have control. If you like this video check out the other one with Moses. Awesome german sheppard also a must see.

You can see it in every fiber of his being. He knows his role but internally "I sware to God I'm going to bite a mother fucker, you better let me bit something, I'm going to bite something, fine if I can't bite this dude you better let me bite something later.. ......ect".

Both with a very heavy lean towards +P and -R, although of course there is some variance from across trainers or clubs.....but I don't think anyone has yet shown that dogs capable of doing the level of bite work these dogs do can also be trained to this level of control without fairly significant force. Not making a criticism by saying that. I've been involved in a lot of PSA in it's early years and helped some competitors in the recent past. The training can range from very reasonable and productive to just over the top....but that's true in all K9 sports, not something particular to PSA. By contrast, largely because it is incredibly predictable and by contrast to this quite simple from a control perspective, IPO can be trained with very little force if one is committed to and knowledgeable able the process.

Hey I have a question ik French ring is base around malinois and knvp around Dutch shepherds but I have been looking into French ring n I want to be different I’m doing a lot of research on Dutch shepherds but I’ve been asking why I done see Dutch shepherds in French ring n I have seen dobermans gsd in the sport so why not that breed someone told me they are harder to train than mals are a lil heavier and has less endurance in your opinion can a Dutch shepherd excel in French ring? In general
@meirionnyddroberts99813 жыл бұрын
There are many Dutch herders titled in PSA, French ring, mondio ring, and IPO some even in mulitible sports. The malinois and the Dutch herder are the same dog same breed. All Dutch herders have mal in there pedigree the only real diffrence is that typically herders are brindle. The orginol Dutch shephsrd is nothing like the one you see in a trail like this.

Pretty good impulse control but I’m pretty sure the decoys touched the dog multiple times. Real world scenario I would expect my dog to fuck someone up everytime they came running at me or him like that…but that’s just me 🤷🏻♂️
@typerexc5 жыл бұрын
All I know is, _I_ would have bitten them ALL, several times, lol. I was wondering about the practical side of a situation like this, if it had been real and not a simulation - if someone actually interfered with the handler to the point that they could not give an attack/defend command, if there was an override training that kicks in where the dog will try to prevent any injury to the handler?
@MasterPaw5 жыл бұрын
yeah this dog is a beast. If the suits weren't in play and they got a little to close I dont konw.. then again this girl is badass and has put in 1,000's of hours.. the dog has live bites. so yes he bites for realz
@typerexc5 жыл бұрын
Masterful display. Still trying to wrap my head around the bond/focus required to maintain such control. Thanks for the response!
@MasterPaw5 жыл бұрын
yes this is what everyone should realize, but they have no clue whats going on.. first we build them to bite, then make stop them and add control. Again she spends 1,000s of hours.. in PSA 3 it gets a little crazier. -masterpaw

A wagging tail can be a sign of stress, not necessarily enjoyment. Look at the panting, the ears back. Looks me to like there was a good bit of stress being expressed by the dog.

This is absolutely the most ridiculous K9 certification I have ever seen. This is far beyond any real life "protection" scenario that could ever possibly exist, yet this is a protection dog certification? For anyone who is not seeing a stressed dog here, you are totally wrong. This dog is extremely stressed for the majority of the exercise, just watch his ears and note how often you see both of his ears up. The dog yawning during the exercise isn’t because he’s tired, that is also stress. It’s clear that this group is trying to simulate another popular European dog sport, but has gone overboard. Too much compulsion training is easy to detect and this is a good example.
@MasterPaw9 жыл бұрын
Will Bite I thought your comment was ridiculous, since this is not a protection certificate, but sport. This is a protection sport level 2.. first they are built up to love to bite, and this dog wants to bite everyone of them. In this level 2 scenario the dog is under control not to bite. Ofcourse the dog is stressed he wants to bite...lol@ real life scenario.. of course not.
@Tinohadji8 жыл бұрын
+Will Bite Rest assured this dog, will not get spooked or bite a kid that jumps on it, or bolt across the street after a cat. The dog is OBVIOUSLY under pressure in this test.. But it comes out with flying colours. Ive seen ;all positive; dogs be spooked by everything around them in their environment. This dog is being tested right now, and doing well. It is also less stressed in its daily environment, or on a walk. This dog is equiped to handle any situation life throws at it and not ;tilt;. This dog, when bred, will have been tested for sound nerve, so its offspring, will also be of sound nerve. (unlike the puppy mills, that breed anything with anything, we have selection of the fittest here. You really dont get it.
@Tinohadji7 жыл бұрын
John Doe And you agreeing, is why 90% of dogs that are used for breeding are of weak nerve and why we have so many behavioural issues and dogs being put down. If dogs that were bred where like the dog above... Expect high quality pups and not tea-cup yorkshires who piss themselves every time a teacup drops. (Visit those pet forums and see how many insecure terrified dogs from 'caring' all positive owners are circulating around).
@Tinohadji7 жыл бұрын
John Doe This is not even really a test favoured in sport circles... This is more of what you will see respected in real working dog circles... Infact the person who first shared this video with me was a proffesional dog trainer working in training police dogs. In a real functional situation, especially with working police dogs.. they may be in crowds.. There are many distractions, and you want the dog not to be spooked or attack the wrong target... If anything most active police dogs do not reach this spectacular efficiency and is why we often see dogs biting innocent civilians.
@MasterPaw7 жыл бұрын
+Kep exactly.. this takes so much training people have no clue. I am not denying this is a sport, but arguing with someone who wants a "real" civil dog that doesn't like people or other dogs? sound like a liability.

@annetteschnittert32073 жыл бұрын
The poor dog. He's totally stressed, and don't know waht to do. Obviously the dog wasn't trained well in how to handle unknown and stressing situations.
@siraban7 ай бұрын
This is why PSA is total BS. What real protection dog would tolerate this nonsense? Protection sports are supposed to prepare the dog for real-life situations, but dogs that are trained to shut down their instincts to this degree will never do real-life protection.
