In this video I wrap up my whole journey since buying the boat. The good times and the issues that lead to the not so good times. I explain why I had to make the hard decision of re-powering. Which has set me back a lot but also allowed me the opportunity to embark on an even more amazing adventure.

Taylor, I'm not quite sure what your next steps are. Based on your video, it looks like you'll be sailing with a couple and their child, which is brings its own share of questions. Why not pursue something greater? You're Taylor Francis. Your presence on Sailing Doodles made me and countless other people fans and subscribers of the show. There are opportunities currently available to you that would instantly place you on a different level in this space in every possible way. Don't sell yourself short and don't settle for the ordinary, because Taylor Francis is anything but. Just something to keep in mind.

That was a great recap, thanks, You have to know that not only do we support you but to have Brian ask you to help him sail to Mexico than on to Panama shows how good of a sailor he believes you are, and how much faith he has in you to trust his family in your hands. He knew Casa would be busy with Nugget and it would be you and him doing the majority of the sailing and he was thrilled to welcome you aboard. In fact he trusted you so much he taught you how to make Moonshine.

@@gzo313 I get it. And I am not bashing the other creators. Taylor is a stunning young woman, and the camera loves her, it is what drives a lot of views, esp on Taylor's Travels. Hello Taylor, my wife and I met you at the Annapolis boat show. We are on SV Mo’ Bettah. When we bought our boat we went through the same depression sort of speak. My mechanic/boat guru pulled me aside and told me a story of two boats. One was ours, a great boat that needed some work. The other that was relatively brand new. He had billed the new boat owner almost $100,000 in labor and new parts to get the boat where the new owners wanted her. He spent half that amount in billing on our boat getting us to the same point. The point is you bought a great hull and are making the vessel what you want it to be. Don’t ever look back and love what you have accomplished. Can’t wait to see what the future has for you!!!

Yeeey. TaylorsTravels is back. And, don't hate your boat. :) Every boat break. It's a boat. And with your approach, you will be pretty freaking awsome at fixing it, before you know it. Fair winds.

Taylor, get some nut drivers to use on hose clamps. They will help so much. Most hose clamps are 5/16 and 1/4 inch

Hello Taylor. Love your videos. I followed you with Sailing Doodles, when you got your new boat and traveled south with Mom...and now with Delos. You are a joy to follow. Hang in there! You are not just a Strong Woman..but a STRONG PERSON. You love adventure and will continue to be adventurous. I was always told a Boat is a hole in the water that we pour money into. You are seeing that now. BUT, you are smart and will make the RIGHT decisions to make your boat safe, and reliable. Hang in there! Love following your experiences.

I began watching your sailing adventures on your travels on SV Delos. I found your thirst for knowledge and fearless adventure on the high seas both inspiring and entertaining. With you bubbly personality and over all cuteness I was hooked on following your adventures. Now watching you solo sailing travel adventures I find myself, once again, intrigued. Stay groovy and stay safe.

The unknown is always tough. Once you figure out the issue, you can deal with it. It's just frustration with one thing after another. Take a deep breath and just slowly let it out and, carry on. You'll look back and see your character shine through. You could get the head gasket fixed, and then later on replacing the motor, or spend it all up front and get this replaced. Only you can find the correct answer for you. You have to live YOUR DREAM, no one else.

Enjoying your videos and instagram posts. You are such fun to keep up with for us land locked folks doing that 8-5. I have no sea experience, so no advice there. I trust you are learning as you go. There is always something you can learn from anyone in any situation. Just step back and take it in....sailing, mechanical, video, content, tech, tax accounting/record keeping, etc. The way you approach life with no fear, great attitude (at least on camera is all we see), pauses to reevaluate, and goals combined with your free spirit, caring, friendly, people person that you are.....you will do well no matter what direction you end up taking. It does suck in the lows....but that is part of what makes Highs what they are. Praying for your safety and wisdom of future plans.

A new engine is a smart choice Taylor. As a marine technician, this is the way to go.

Shouldn’t we encourage her to seek to understanding what conditions cause a engines head gasket to fail.?!?! I agree with the installation of a factory fresh power unit, but it to will end up blowing another head gasket if the original cause is not well understood. And make sure that the break in procedure it followed correctly along with its first service being carried out buy the company that sold it to her. New engine can have factory defects that will become clear sooner than later after it being used. But that what you want, if there’s a issue that comes up then they will take care of it free of charge. But if you cut out on a 7 day Voyage the day after the installation is done, then your likely to have a bad time…. m’kay

@@Rick_Dunaway my guess is she's done her research...

@@danieloliver20 did she ever say what the cause was for the repeated overheating? Water pump impeller? Clogged strainer, ect? It would be nice to have a stand alone engine temperature alarm 🚨 that would even wake you up if the person on watch was tossed overboard or maybe just dozed of. Than and a high heat automatic engine kill switch. You always want to carry along a new water pump impeller and a spare prop incase you hit a submerged object and it get damaged. Doesn’t take much either to knock a prop out of balance. Then if you run it that way for long, the Sad haft seal may also get comprised and now you got water coming in the bilge…

Christ a head gasket is a lot cheaper than a engine
@danieloliver20

@@Maddie-Girl the boat's an early 90s, the engine would need a thorough go through, top to bottom since it's taking on water. All could be fixed, but if you want to keep that boat and not sell it right away a bullet proof new engine would give great peace of mind.

I truly missed your weekly video. Happy to hear you took the time to decompress. The stresses of owning a boat seems mind-boggling. Hoping you get back to a bit of van life next summer. All the best. I love love your bangs.

Mexico is a long windward leg to Rio Dulce or Panama, alternatively going through the Bahamas, the Windward Passage to Panama could be downwind, given the right weather window, assuming you are going to do what you want, wishing you the best of luck in your post-Delos travels.
